The Kitten Room

Niels

Savannah Super Cat
Next week i want to expand the kitten room with the hall upstairs.
He will have been 2.5 weeks in the kitten room then.
From that time i gonna start him socializing with the other cats (short time each day).
Is it also wise to give him more room ?

And most important of all :
Is this stair dangerous for a savannah ?
My cats do fine on them but they aren't as clumsy.

I live in an old Victorian era house with steep stairs between the two levels... I think they like the stairs for racing up and down :)

How's your boy doing with you now, are you the best of friends?

I was afraid that he in all his clumsyness will jump down withouth taking any stairs.

He's doing fine, we are 11 days together now.
I'm lying in bed with him on my lap.
I'm playing with him with a stick with a feather.
He's really calm at the moment because we just had some wild playtime.

I was thinking at day 20 to expand his room so he will have room and hall.
Then later i give him the living room also, maybe a week later.

You will probably find the first time he tries the stairs he will be super-cautious... but yes he may get excited at some point and skip a step. They learn like we all do. I've never had one slip to the bottom and hurt themselves like I have done to myself in the past...

Haha, people have hurt themself also badly on this stairs.
But alcohol is more too blame then the stairs.
Good to know that it isn't a trouble.

In the door downstairs i gonne make a vieuwing point with wire that he can see and smell the other cats.
I already have a hole in the door where the cat flap used to be.

I like the idea of a viewing point with wire mesh... we often suggest a transition point of hanging a screen door on the quarantine room for the same reason, then kitties can see each other safely.

I have never fallen down the stairs drunk, anytime I have been at all tipsy I seem to remember to be super-careful! Our stairs are bare wood too, it REALLY hurts to fall down them :-(
