Tojo has the pouch. When he was a small kitten and I was at a cat show an Egyptian Mau breeder mentioned the pouch to me as a EM trait. So much later when I noticed Tojos I looked on his papers and saw that he had EM in his heritage so I assumed it was from that. So interesting.

My F6 girl just recently started to show a pouch, and she's a month or two shy of her 2nd birthday.

I thought it was from being spayed, but after some research online I've discovered that many cats have it. Fascinating!

It's called a Primordial pouch. It is thought to be a place for storage of fat for lean times.. Not all cats have them. noit even all Savannahs. I have a girl that has a pretty noticable one. another has none. and My boy has a barely noticable one.

Rafiki now has one. She was so sick and scrawny last year that I welcome it! Of course Jammu's puts hers to shame. There is nothing quite like the pouch a Pixiebob can sprout!
