Obviously there were no introductions needed, best buddies at first sight!

I recently joined this community and love, love, love it! Our story……we (My fiancee and I) have never wanted a cat and felt as though we didn't like cats (litterbox). Then we found 3 (we named them Storm, Shadow Cat and Hope - my fiancee is a high X-Men fan!) kittens abandoned in a rental house across the street. They had been left in the basement in a taped up moving box. When we were walking our dogs, we heard them crying. We knew the property owner and called. He gave us permission to go in through the basement window and I went in and handed them out to Jon. (pic 1 was after we had them for a week) We worked with a rescue organization and they all were checked by a vet, given their shots, were spayed/neutered and microchipped. We took care of them from about 4 weeks to 12 weeks. (pic 2 & 3) Happily, they were all adopted by one family!!! Great, but after letting them go, we were lost. We have 2 small dogs, but who knew the absolute greatness of a cat?!?!? After much crying and missing them, we decided that we HAD to adopt a kitten into our family. We went to the Humane Society and found Jinx!!!! (Pic 4) (Another X-Men…but little did we know his name would be prophetic.) When we adopted him, we noticed he had a pronounced limp, but regardless, he was coming home with us for sure! At his vet check up a day later, we discovered that his leg had been broken and had not healed correctly, so our little baby would require surgery to correct this. He did fine during the surgery, only to be diagnosed with ringworm. One small spot on his ear spread to the other ear, a spot on his whiskers, one on his healing leg, a spot on his back and one on his toe. This poor boy just wasn't getting a break. I had never heard of ringworm and was concerned about the advice I had gotten from our vet and after researching everything I could find on the internet about ringworm, I ran across this site. THANK GOD!!!!!! The community here saved my sanity. The time everyone invested in helping myself and Jinx, the advice on how to best deal with this, and most importantly, knowing we had people out there we could lean and count on who really, really cared was everything. I will owe everyone here a huge debt of gratitude because each and every person who belongs to this site, whether or not directly relating to our request for advice, is what makes Savannah Cat Chat, "Savannah Cat Chat!" A huge hug and thanks to you all! I LOVE BEING PART OF YOUR COMMUNITY!!!!!
