$5500 custom buttery leather couch with fang marks and so many scratches we now tell friends it was supposed to have that distressed look; bar stool that for some reason became a scratching post.

Oooh! Deborah reminded me...

Brand spanking new kitchen nook- even though I've kept it COVERED, they've clawed it up! (Now- the old man and Selkirk help with this too... Grumble, grumble)

Yikes!

This thread is likely going to make me very happy my Savannahs aren't too destructive. They've knocked things over (including drinks onto hubby's laptop to kill it) but they don't tend to chew or tear things up. That's my British Shorthair's job...

I'm with you, Brigitte! My SVs are not really destructive...naughty, yes, but the real damage is done by my Oci boy...he shredded my beautiful vintage sofa that I really loved. Now we have sturdy thick leather ugly furniture that he can't quite get his claws into....and our infamous french door that is gradually getting thinner by the day as a scratching post: the Oci started that one, the others just followed his lead....this is Simboya whittling away.

Definitely! You'd think we had apes living here. With claws, and teeth.
Apes are probably worse... Probably...Possibly...?
The disruptive power of eight savvies doing rounds in the living-room and racing each other is considerable. Tablecloths, for instance...
Do they always pick the most direct route from A to B? I sometimes get them flying through my newspaper when lying reading on a couch.

LOL, Per! I get that in the wee hours of the morning, but it is my fault for extending my catwalk into the bedroom :wtf:

As you know, when you own SVs you may have to change your perspective about things. I just tell folks who come to visit that my cats are into the re-purpose rage that interior decorators are touting these days. My guys like to re-purpose everything I own into either a toy, scratching post, or scientific experiment. It's all good. Things are just things and not near as satisfying as heat butts and a hunk of purring spotted love sitting in your lap.

Nothing really interesting in those newspapers I was reading anyway...

Azul always runs off with any rubber sippy cup or bottle nipple she can find and destroys them. I guess it's not a big deal until I find on a good day 1-2. After awhile that adds up. I've been lucky that they haven't destroyed stuff like everyone has posted. Lol in a way I'm glad I can't top the previous posts haha
