Toys for bored Savannah

I think another suggestion on facebook is it...i'm not securing it directly behind legs a little further back where he is a big chunky so it pulls up and then he has room its hard to get the right size, mynwood made me a 2nd one since 1st was too small & too short but this is still a little small around chest but maybe too long now (my fault, paranoid about too short like last one). the first one seemed like it was too short since it was tough to get on and seemed to dig into back legs and pull back on neck. I should have asked just 1 inch longer and not 2. now i just ordered another one from them for other cat that is bigger, it seems fine but he hasn't even tried to go outside the doorway so far so time will tell. I thought mynwood was best from reading almost every thread on here about jackets. (last year). expensive to keep buying them and then have them not fit properly even with measuring to fit. Guess I should try one more from another brand since now i have him hooked on our outdoor fun. :)

I know it seems to go completely against instinct but when he spooks and tries to back out of the jacket you need walk toward him - stay near him, do whatever it takes to keep all traction off the leash until you can get your hands on him again. Another option is is to put two walking jackets on him, or a harness under the walking jacket, each with its own leash - that way he will hopefully only back out of one jacket while you still have him secure with the other.

ha, yes, I was totally thinking of doubling up harness or jackets. yes i do go towards him, he is super fast and strong, lol. I think the issue was me putting it on too far back, new tries tomorrow. :)

Eddies

Eddies a ham!
About those toys...I found Eddie a new one at Petsmart; Spotted snake pull the tail & it vibrates for a whole minute- just long enough to get Eddie to try to kill it. Takes him a good 30 minutes to get bored because he throws it then stands on it &....pulls it himself! Hilarious. I put it up when I'm not home.

Sounds like a great toy - do you have a link to it online?

I agree.with you Patti....

The inability to catch it only makes it more desirable. The laser use here is only used on veerrrryyy special occasions, but it's a fave. Petsmart used to carry one that snapped on a collar. Hysterical !
