Just ordered this today.. Will be 8 to 14 days for delivery, so will see when it arrives. I will be sure to post a review here with pictures and maybe a video.

These are what I have pre-ordered. Once they arrive and get a test run I will let you know how the short range test works.
They look great, with one huge problem for me... You have to have an Apple IPHONE, IPAD, or other IOS device... Will not work with Android and that is going to limit the distribution of this. If I used the IPHONE, I would jump all over this, not just for Elsa, but for a lot other item and they are cheap. One other thing about this is that they are transponders... They work like airport ID Badges that you have to be in proximity. I am very curious as to how it will work over 10 feet. Most have to be within 2 feet to a couple of inches. When someone gets one of these, would love to hear the test results... May make me get an IOS device!

They are sopposed to have a close range of 150' and if they get in range of another tag user, that tag user's phone sends the gps coordinates to your phone without identifying either device. That way there is a chance of having a wider effective search area.

Related question.....this has to be added to a collar of some type. Rafiki has a mynwood jacket for when she goes out on her leash but she does not wear it inside the house. She would go nuts trying to remove it if I kept it on. I have been trying to come up with a way (aside from an implanted chip) of having her information readily available should she get out. Does anyone have a super comfy, escape-proof collar for their little door darters?
There would be nothing stopping you from just using outside... But if she wears it inside, then yes... Would need some kind of collar.
I did look at it closer and it says 50 to 150'. What I don't understand is why they only last 1 year before having to replace them. I have never had a transponder to go bad on me.

She has become a door darter as of late and has gotten out 5 times in the last month. Thank goodness she is such a sucker for a belly rub or I am not sure I would have caught her every time. I am trying to come up with a solution for her getting out accidentally when she does not have her jacket/ID on. Being able to track her would certainly be helpful.
