Do you live in an area with raccoons? And if so does the cat go outside and come in contact with soil or grass? If so ask your vet about the potential for Baylisascaris procyonis infection.

No, there are no coons in this area. No real wildlife except for an occasional coyote. Anything else carry it, Deb? Desert animals is what we have here.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Master and glad you are getting a second opinion. How did you end up at a human clinic getting an MRI?
Rodents rabbits birds can be infected by the larvae.

We've got a new problem: when we returned, Master's sister - Margo started acting very aggressive toward him. We were gone for about 36 hours. Our mom was coming to feed Margo and play with her twice a day. She's fine toward us, but hisses and spits and just turns crazy when she sees Master. We have to keep them separated or supervise their every step. Master really wants to spend time with her and tries to follow her, but she just smacks him (if we didn't get between them on time) or hisses. This is just depressing. I was reading they need to be pretty much "re-introduced". She basically acts like he's a stranger-cat (she really hates other cats). Any advise? I'd really appreciate it....
When you returned from the vet with Master? He probably smells like the vet which is upsetting her. Try rubbing them both down with the same towel so the scents are mixed...or wipe both with a pet wipe so they both smell similar...

Did that. Waiting for positive response. Antibiotics also make them smell differently... Thank you. I hope scent exchange helps.
