That was my decision of this year.

Going to africa to work with lions and tigers or getting themba.

I hope i can go someday later, i only don't know how long themba can miss me.

I travelled alot last years and i thought now i can get a savannah and leave it behind.
But boy do i miss it hard.
Now it's a year ago from my last holiday.

Africa is my dream trip. DH won't go with me and none of my friends are interested. The other forum sponsors a dinner for its members each year in conjunction with an international jewelry trade show. I have never met any of these people IRL but have known many of them via the form for a decade. This is my first time attending the dinner. Some of the diamond vendors & jewelers attending the trade show are also sponsoring members of the forum and they have donated door prizes -- diamond rings, sapphire rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets -- so it's quite an exciting event. And we get to see in person each other's jewelry that we've coveted on line. Some of the women own diamond rings in excess of 5 carats. Location is secret, ID is required, and armed guards will be present.

It sounds great Deborah! I have to say though...I would take Africa in a second over jewelry...must be something wrong with me...

So, since we are all lovers of servals and savannahs here (I think), we will have to plan a trip together in the future...

My holidays i went on my own were my best experiences.

I traveled to East Africa by myself when I was 20 years old. It was a trip that took me eight years to plan and of course was the experience of a life time, and something that is not easily described with words alone.
