TODAY'S THE DAY JOHN!!!! I hope Elsa's trip home goes smoothly. Can't wait to hear about your first meeting. Best wishes.

You will see it as well... I can't wait... I have been doing everything I can do to stay busy because waiting is just killing me... Guess I could be compared to an expedient father... LOL!... Maybe the next one will be less stressful... I have been looking at her flight and she has some icing and weather to go through for most of her flight, so it may be bumpy for her if they cannot fly over it (Guess that is my aircraft background coming out of me). I will be watching her every step (even if she gets off course LOL). Amazing what you can do with Technology.... I hope the plane she is on has the deice equipment working, or the flight will be canceled (in the airline world somethings break that you can fly with and we put them on what we call "MEL". The plane is safe to fly without it, but has to be fixed in a given time period. Some items are weather restricted. In this case it is legal to MEL the deicing system, but weather restrictions would prevent it from flying that path today... Sorry if I am getting too technical...

You can track her as well and see what she will be going through... http://flightaware.com/live/flight/DAL6048 - She is scheduled to arrive at 1404 CT (or 2:04PM).

I was worried about the weather but hoping it wouldn't cause any delay. I completely empathize with your feelings - we've all been there waiting for our fur kids to arrive. It's agony. And believe me, it won't be any easier when you get a 2nd one. All those feelings of anticipation, excitement, worry will be there just as strong as with the first. I flew down to Calif. to pick up my first and the flight was a mere 1.5 hrs and it felt like an eternity. I wanted to shout "can't you make this thing go any faster.":roflmao:

LOL... I hear ya... and actually, to answer your question... "Yes, they can make it go faster, but many times they are speed restricted by either ATC, or there could be a limitation with the plane that will give a speed limitation. I know for a fact that the Bombardier CRJ's will cross Mach 1, but they are not allowed to do it because of noise abatement and other issues. Most other airliners can do that as well, but that is the way it goes." and we continue to be impatient... That is what our society has done to us, and we ALL start at a young age... Look at a new born baby.... He wants his FOOD right now, and telling him to wait a second does not silence him at all.... (I usually tell my niece to use the mute button [pacifier]:eek::Geeky::sneaky:)
