Here in San Francisco vet costs are high so that doesn't sound unusual to me. We all have levels that we are comfortable with... I can't price one of my kitties' lives so just bring out the credit card with a cringe...

I'm glad to hear that Chuck is back home with you. What did the vet determine was wrong with him?

Cystitis.... turns out we didn't need to keep Chuck at the vets overnight X2. He is doing better here at home than he would sitting in a cage. I get to administer the IV and the needles and all the fun stuff! he's being more like himself now than he was before he got sick ;-) seems quite energetic and happy. the pain killers he is on have him acting like a loon...love Frisco!!!

I'm glad you are able to treat him at home - much better for both of you! I hope he recovers completely very soon!

Glad Chuck is home and doing better! Sometimes it is better to treat at home where things are more familiar and the cat is not caged....

Just did the second set of bloodwork and Chuck's #'s are all back to normal!!! certainly a wake up call, for being proactive with cat diet...

glad to hear he is home and doing better. I have a cat that went in for the same thing. he spent 3-4 days there i have to say I think it cost me 400.00. he was a kibble freak and now eats raw!

Ya, we are limiting treats now...certainly less than 10 a day...mixed into his wet food...now we are contemplating pet insurance...ugh

i get dehydrated treats. I used the rx kibble and raw for a little while, but have taken the kibble out. he prefers raw over all now!
