Thank you Tab for your forthrightness and honesty and it is even more difficult to live in a place where your cat is the first one in the entire province to have this ..good luck with your beautiful boy

I first heard of Tritrichomonus Foetus (TF) in Feb, 2011. I was pretty sure that Tink had it, but had to find a vet that knew what I was talking about. Dr. Jodi Gookin from NC State vet school is the leading authority. It took me to June to find a vet and for Tink to have a cow pie stool. I took a picture, called the vet that was familiar with it and had a appointment that afternoon. A fecal sample was taken, put on a slide and examined under a microscope. She had it. Every dr and tech looked at the slide. And all of my research that I had brought in was copied for all to read and learn about it. She was treated with the compounded drug obtained from Diamondback Pharmacy in Ariz. In Mid Aug. she had another fecal slide test and showed no signs of it. I have not had any issues since. 30 percent of all cats at a cat show tested positive for TF according to one of the articles I read, yet many drs., breeders, owners are not familiar with it.. If it would be helpful, I still have cow pie stool photo that I could post. Sue

Wow ...yes I posted this to hopefully raise awareness of the magnitude of misdiagnosed and untreated cases of this parasite, it is very insidious , and not all cats even have the tell tale symptoms of cow pie stools.Thank you for sharing your story Sue
