Also about the "scared" part, at first they are hesitant to go near her and then once i say she will rub up against you if you dont pet her they get over it and she gets lots of attention and pets!
I have a "fingertip" method, this works especially for people who deem themselves or their kids "allergic" when they're really afraid, not so much allergic--I mean, come on. Why are you in a pet store if you're allergic? And no, I don't buy that whole "not allergic to dogs but definitely allergic to cats" scam.
I tell them to put out a fingertip and then I hold Duma in my arms and put his nose towards their fingertip. He always smells the fingertip, and his nose wiggles up and down on their finger, and the person with the finger always giggles, so I get to say, "See, that wasn't so scary!" Generally that leads to pets, rubs, etc.
