What The Pee Is Going On???

She has used the Litter box with the new litter so far and just now as I was working in the office she meowed several times and then tried to pee in the corner of the floor which I stopped her and she ran back upstairs. The litter box is clean although new litter but she has used it for several days without any problems..

Sorry I did not get alerted to replies to this thread. I think you should put a litter box down where this office is located. You stated she ran back upstairs which implies her box is on another level. Kittens when confused or unaware where the litter box is located will in fact do this behavior. They whine or cry several times as if saying "Litter box where are you at"

Since she has used the new litter box I think your issue could be having several levels to your home.

For now....just make sure there is a ltter box in the part of the house she is visiting while out. It may be that she is avoiding the box in the area you confined her in. She may be associating the litter box with being shut in the area and avoid going there. It will be to your advantage to make sure there is a litter box in the area she is free roaming in.
