Just got the results of Havi's latest PCR test. The tritrichomonas is back. So here we go again with another round of ronidazole. The vet also wants to start her on Vitamin B12 shots. When will this ever end? Havi shows no sign of slowing down. In fact it was hard to keep her from jumping after she was spayed last week.

Oh My...... I share your anguish. I hope the time passes quickly and results are negative. I take a stool sample in on 12/30 for a a second PCR test. I am dreading it. Best of luck, we will all be sending positive energy. Did the vet say why the B12? Curious.

I think she is thinking Havi may be anemic with the loose stools. She also is sending a blood sample in for a set of pancreatic/intestinal tests. I was shocked at the price, $200. I need to find me another vet. I have one in mind that has experience with Savannahs and have called to see if he is any less expensive. I presume this last round of tests is to rule out IBD and praying hard that it comes back negative for IBD. One good thing, the last PCR test was clear of cryptosporidia.

Keeping your baby in my prayers also. I, too, am praying for firm poop.

What tests did your vet order? I've not heard of a blood test that could diagnos IBD, but it would sure be nice if there is one - so much easier than a biopsy!

The receipt says pancreatic/intestinal function tests. Need to take Havi back in next Tuesday for another B12 and should learn the results then and the course of treatment she wants to take with Havi. This is so frustrating. One step forward two steps back. Not fun.

I finally have great news to report. Ahavah (Havi for short) now has firm normal poop. Diarrhea is gone, yay! She was spayed about 2 and a half weeks and the PCR came back showing Tritichamonas again. She started another round of ronidazole last week. Hopefully this will be her last. All the tests from the blood work are back and look great. One more PCR test to confirm that the TF is gone and she should have a clean bill of health giving mommy's pocketbook some time to recover.

I never thought I could be so happy over cat poop. Next step now that the diarrhea is gone, get a cat genie litter box.
