what to feed SV kitten with diarrhea

Its a bad situation. Sorry about rx issues. We have an SV who will NOT take liquid meds easily. I parcel out dosage in pill pockets which he loves or mix it in with his favorite (but not usually allowed) fancy feast medleys. I am so sorry your dealing with this and I hope your kitten improves. Others on here can probably offer more.
Thank you .... Appreciate your concern. Have 21 days to go of RX.

As stated in contract within 3days kitten needed to be checked out by a vetranarian. At that exam I was given a vial to take in a stool sample for testing. Recommended by my vetranarian ( not the breeder) the next day test results were in. II was notified of the conformation of giardia.

YOu need to let the breeder know the situation...

I feel for you. Havi has just completed her third round of meds a couple days ago. Per Per's suggestion I am withholding food for next 24 hours. Both Havi and Fiona, my DSH, are all over me right now. I may not get much sleep tonight. Going to start her back on boiled chicken breast and white rice and see if that will help.

Question. She is due to be spayed the day after Christmas. If the diarrhea is not gone by then should I go ahead with the spay? She will be six months old by then.

An interesting side note. My BYB has more kittens posted on his FB page. A litter of 7 Savannah's, a litter of Siamese, and a litter of Himalayan/Persians.

I wish there was an easy way to warn prospective buyers. I certainly learned my lesson.

Wow - that is a shame :(
My feelings for my little bundle of fur are ALMOST impossible to clarify into words. She is an extremely affectionate little girl despite the trama. Which could of been avoided by a $40 stool test. Unfortunately it was the little one that suffered and is still suffering ....... Not the breeder. Due to in my opinion NEGLECT !

sorry you are having to experience this and Havi(hope I spelled it correctly) unnecessarily is put thru all this. Your love and attentiveness is most comforting, I'm sure.

Mary, you can post on your FB page and share...that is one way to do it.

As for the spay...I'm not sure I would put her through it if she is still having diarrhea...what does your vet say?

I agree. Our Mala was in perfect health and anesthesia really took it out of her. She was fine in 24 hrs but if she had any other problems it could have been much worse. Talk to your vet but I would hold off on spay until she is stronger and less stressed. Won't hurt anything as long as she isn't around a breeding male.

Help, poor Havi is still battling diarrhea. She is just 5 months old and is now in heat. Isn't that a bit early? I'm still another week out from getting another PCR test. Even with the diarrhea she is steadily gaining weight and jumping like crazy after her toys. She is scheduled for a spay on December 26. How long does a normal heat cycle last? The howling is incessant. No breeding males around so that is not my concern.
