World's Best Cat Litter

I've tried the pine, corn and wheat litters and they didn't work out for me, and I don't really care for clay litter because I heard that if cats swallow some of it, it can swell up inside of them and cause problems! Another thing that gets me is all the litter companies say that their litter doesn't track....I have never seen a litter that didn't get all over the place......better have a good vacuum! So anyway, I'm sticking to the Blue natural walnut brand right now until something better comes out on the market!

On the scale of yukkiness it doesn't even budge the meter in comparison to the fur on rabbit cat yak I cleaned up a few months ago. Of course had my wife witnessed the bugs, she would have had a totally different opinion and we would be staying at a hotel for a few days. That of course is why she'll never know what transpired.

We use good 'ole fashioned pine pellets (equine pine at local feed store). We swear by it, the cats love it.. it's a win-win!

Me too! I love the pine pellets. No pee odor...ever. Even my 5 week old F4 babies are using the pine pellet litter on their own...a first for me as I usually use something softer for their first litter box....I didn't expect them to use the box so soon!

I usually offer the kittens little litterboxes of clumping (Nature's Miracle) and keep the mama's large box of wood pellets, and almost always before long they are climbing in there and imitating mama and never use the clumping stuff much at all. I like them to know what it is and what it is for in any case...

I may go back to the pine pellets, which i really like as well. And yes, Brigitte, i also use natures miracle with kittens...i mixed it with pine pellets as they got older, so they would know both

Our SV is the only one of our 3 cats that will use pine litter. I would consider converting just for him, but I am unsure on just how to manage it. I guess I could remove half the splines from a litter lifter scoop and fashion a two stage litter box with holes drilled in the bottom to relieve the saw dust into a refuge tray.

Certainly like to hear how others manage the pine pellets and maybe there is something that fits for us.

If Nature's Miracle has a litter without grain I would give it a go. I am totally gun shy about any grain based litter products since this mess and definitely not willing to subject our home to it again. Lots of theories on how the bugs are introduced, but seeing that the same ones are present in various parts of the country it would seem as if it's from the source.

That is your choice...NM is pine based as far as I know...you can use whatever litter you want to mix with pine pellets.
