Yuki at emergency vet

That's a relief that she's able to go home Tort. I hope whatever happened was just a random blip and doesn't come back. Please let us know what your regular vet thinks and give her a head butt for me.

JIm, hope Yuki is ok...sounds like a UTI to me, but hopefully the fluids will help until you get her to your vet...however, if it is a UTI, she needs antibiotics

Agreed with Paige, it would seem reasonable to start her on a basic antibiotic for UTI while waiting for results? Hope she does ok tonight with you, I'm sure you will be watching her closely!

Agree with the others, even if they weren't able to get a urine sample I would like to see her started on some antibiotics. My prayers are with you and Yuki that this is nothing serious and easily treated. Please let us know how she is doing!

The emergency vet (I really dislike these people, but they are the only available vet on the weekend) wouldn't give an antibiotic saying it may just be stones in the bladder causing irritation. I think the vet has stones between her ears.

Fortunately Yuki seems to be doing ok this morning. She isn't in a mood to wrestle with Paz who for some reason is being a persistent brat, but she is otherwise active, and eating. (Forgot to mention, she not only ate some of her food, but tried to get to my breakfast as well while I was eating.) :)

Tort, My sincere prayers going out to you an Yuki... I very much know what you are going through.... I wish her the best in making it through this.

I wish I could come up with an Idea, but those who have already would be the ones I call the experts anyway... Hope she comes out of it soon.

Thanks everyone.

So far today she is being her sweet and precocious self. No sign I have seen of a recurrence, but I only discovered yesterday by walking in on the event.

I will be trying to get Yuki to my regular vet as soon as I can reasonably do so. In fact I was planning to drag all three in for their yearly health check and boosters this coming weekend so the timing at least isn't so bad.

I'm also working on the weight-loss issue, which I believe is her grazing style vs gorging style. Any food left down disappears before she can come back for more. I've been giving her first crack at food lately, and will be trying to give her an extra feeding session by herself to see if that helps.
