Ziggy, et al.

The news is good. Ziggy's cyst appears to be just a long sebaceous cyst in an unusual location and our vet says there's no reason to have it tested by a pathologist.

His tear ducts are closed up a ways down and will probably always be that way. We'll just make sure we clean the sleep away in the mornings so an irritation doesn't develop.

The vet wasn't able to determine a reason for his congestion and believes it's a virus. Since Lysine isn't helping may be something other than herpes. We may get him tested next time he has an upper respiratory infection.

Ziggy was pretty woozy and disoriented for a while, but he's much better now. It's a good thing I'm not going anywhere for a while. Ziggy's going to need stability at home.

I'll continue with the clicker training, and will resume taking Oni and Ziggy on walks regularly. New toys are here from Hyendry and MetPet which they are enjoying thoroughly.

Thanks for all the kind notes!

Sorry guys somehow I have left a message on the wrong thread! Heaven knows how I managed that it's been a rough day :( I really hope that Ziggy comes through okay and that he makes a really quick recovery. He sounds like a real little fighter.
I didn't even notice--he's certainly amazing to me, and, yes, a fighter, but not so little--15+" at the shoulder, and a thin and leggy 13lbs.

Gee I am SO JEALOUS, our kitty still won't sleep on the bed. Just turned one. I think it's because she has 4 beds to choose from that are all 6 ft or higher. I'd be happy to be pushed over by my little girl needing more room. Yes, I know what I'm wishing for!

Great news! Glad the cyst was benign and nothing more needs to be done. I hope Ziggy recuperates quickly and and is back to his old self in no time!

Exciting news...and I waited until it happened twice...

But first, a Ziggy health update. He managed to untie a stitch and cut another Monday night, but the vet was able to easily glue him back together Tuesday and it seems to be healing fine and he stops when I tell him not to scratch it.

Before the two boys joined us, Oni used to love laying between me and the back of the couch in a kind of protected hollow. She would curl up and ask to have her chin scratched, interspersed with chirps. We'd take long naps like that.

Oni hasn't felt safe enough and she's had her nose out of joint ever since the boys arrived. Finally, she is back cuddling with me. Wednesday, Ziggy decided to join us. Oni was laying beside my chest and Ziggy came and laid along my legs, also between me and the couch. Oni clearly knew he was there, but ignored him. Maybe a hiss from one of them, but they both settled down for a good hour. They were lying within 5 inches of each other.

I just stayed calm and still. Eventually, something startled them, and then they felt required to hiss. Rather amazing, but the really amazing thing is it happened again. This time Ziggy had his head laying on Oni's rear legs for a bit. It lasted at least an hour--maybe considerably more, before they hissed and Oni left.

Both times Oni was very relaxed with me and Ziggy approached slowly yet confidently and laid down beside me. I certainly wouldn't call them friends, but this is a whole new level of tolerance!

I'm in love with both of them, and being able to lay on the couch with both of them just fills my heart.

Carolyn has pictures...will get them off the phone and post soon.
