I'm just glad to hear you have a caring vet and she is getting better. I hope the new year is much better for you both.

I purchased by beloved Buziba from Aaron's Savannah's over a year ago and I have had a very sick cat from the day I got him. Right now I have been crying all day because after taking him yet again to the vet I have learned that Buziba now has Feline Infectious Anemia, did test positive for Feline Leukemia and could potentially have Lymphoma. We have to treat him for the FIA and then do a biopsy.

If this posting can prevent anyone from purchasing a cat from him then a tiny bit of good will happen. I cannot tell you the heartache I am going through right now all because a breeder was not responsible in the care of their cats - it makes me sick. His prognosis is not good. I am glad I did get to experience owning and raising one of these amazing cats. I guess I wouldn't take it back for the world. It is all too short. Please spread the word to never buy a cat from Aaron's Savannah's and save yourself some deep heartache.

I am so sorry to hear about Buziba :-( That is a terrible diagnosis...Aaron's Savannah's was raided over a year ago, so I'm surprised he is still selling kittens...

I'm so sorry about Buziba... I hope the treatment for the Hemobartonella is successful for him... and that the Feline Leukemia diagnosis was incorrect. Was that the FeLV test that was done as opposed to bloodwork indicating leukemia? If so, I have had direct experience of a cat giving a false positive FeLV ELISA test when she was in a similar state of anemia (well she had barely any blood cells of any kind not just red blood cells)... the theory after she rebounded and tested negative (as well as testing negative on IFA and PCR and bone marrow testing) is that when their blood is seriously out of balance the ELISA test may be falsely affected... it's the way the test works that things like protein concentrations can skew results. So retest after treatment, and most definitely at this time confirm the FeLV result with the IFA test or a blood PCR test. For the lymphoma did they see something on xray or ultrasound to lead them to suspect this?

That's such a lot to deal with... I'm so sorry you had this experience when you quite obviously would have expected the joy of a Savannah kitten that was healthy and joyful...

He has swollen lymph nodes on neck, chest and groin area - that is why I took him in. His red blood cells were clumping. They did full blood work up, FIV/ feline leukemia test and gave him a shot of Convenia and have him on Doxycycline for 30 days. It is so hard to have such a sick cat. It's been one thing after another since I got him.
