A bit worried

Yep, she's eating well as long as I give her a variety :)

On another note last night I found a little sore on her back between her shoulder blades. It's tiny and whatever blood there was to it dried, and I didn't find any on the floor or anything (which having vinyl floor I would have seen it). I'm going to attribute it to feline acne or just a skin tag type thing. I tried scratching it off of her and she didn't like that so I'll just leave it be.

My coping strategy is work. I go to work and I'm able to forget or at least not think about what's going on - that's with my cat or any other problems in my life.
I'd also like to say that I'm not overly stressed by it, I'm just able to think of all the different things. With Neka's illness and death I don't think it's a bad thing to be overly cautious. I'm now in the state of mind hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. Last year I lost two people I knew fairly well to cancer, and lost Neka to cancer, and my brother's long time gf got cancer but it has since gone into remission. You have to remember that the way people are is not always because of one thing. As for the counseling thing I wouldn't even know where to begin and I'd just feel very foolish for going. I'd like to think I'm not that odd. Also in my defense usually when cat's quit eating or their appetites change it can signal something is wrong health wise. I know you meant well with your suggestion Deborah but now I'm feeling extremely self conscious about how I come across to people online. :cautious:

Oh and Sabriel ate her food today again. I'm thinking with the variety I'm giving her now that she's good for now, I'll update if anything changes or if she starts going off her food again.

Brandy you are not totally alone... I had my first exotic pet about 4 years ago. A wallaby and she was like my baby... I had to bottle feed her every few hours and she went everywhere with me in a little pouch. One night she went out to run in her pen a few hours and I came out and found her... She had escaped her fencing and had a heart attack. I found her and at first thought she was sleeping and was going to sneak up on her....
It took me weeks to even have the energy to get out of bed. It still makes me cry and I dream about her. We never forget, we try to distract ourselves.... :( so yes I understand. I can't really offer any suggestions myself for managing grief. It can make you very paranoid of something happening to another pet, or you can try to distance yourself so it won't hurt so bad if something does happen.
However, maybe talking about it with someone might help? Can't help to keep it bottled up and ignore it, though I'm not one to talk.
I am sorry you are still struggling, but we have all loved and lost and understand the holes left in your heart. Do try and enjoy your new baby though, she sounds lovely in her own way :)

So over the past 3 or 4 days she's back to how she used to be. I'd ran out of the fancy feast dry food and as she was still eating the blue buffalo I stuck with just giving her that for her two feedings. Now as she used to be she'll jump up on the counter when I'm putting it in her bowl, eat some as soon as I put it in, then as soon as I pick the bowl up she runs to where I put her food bowl. All but prancing with her tail up waiting for me to feed her. Then she starts scarfing the stuff. I'm so confused but I'm starting to think she may go in phases. Ravenous phase, and I'll food because I need to phase. She'll be a year at the end of this month, maybe she's still growing a bit or something. I know savannah's are supposed to grow for 3 years but she's got shorter legs, so I don't expect her to get really tall - but my god is she as fast as a bullet and quite the jumper. :in love:

I have heard bad things about blue buffalo lately... Recalls and such :( just so you are aware!
If you ever go on the market for food again I highly suggest life's abundance, cats seem to go crazy for it!! And grain free, pretty reasonably priced too....
Just my 2 cents! :)

Yeah I've heard that about blue buffalo as well but they haven't recalled the food she's been eating and before it was known as a really good pet food. Her levels at the vet from before were good so I think she's safe to keep eating it..

I feed my cats Blue Wilderness grain free chicken, and the caned food too. Also Wellness dry and canned cat food. I didn't know there was a recall on Blue!:(

Brandy, it has been awhile since I've read your posts so I can't remember...have you tried feeding Sabriel any ground raw chicken?

No I'm not doing raw. There are too many different opinions on it and I don't want to take the risk of doing something wrong and not giving enough of a certain supplement or something. While I don't think that would happen, it is also easier to just give her store bought pet food. The Blue Buffalo that I buy her has not been recalled and I still think it is high quality food..
