I have an unconditional love for animals, so his quirk won't make me love him any less. My bf on the other hand was really expecting a bad azz cat, you know? And his crossed eyes definitely take away that look! Lol So I worry about their relationship. But I know it wouldn't take long for them to be attached at the hip & for bf to look past his special features. I know he's just upset right now bc we weren't expecting it. Everything will be fine, this is just a hiccup in the road!

Well the vet agrees Angus is pretty dang cross eyed! She's pretty positive it's cognitive and isn't caused by anything super serious and it's not effecting his vision. So I just sent our breeder an email letting her know what all is going on & how we're disappointed this wasn't disclosed before we got him. I assured her I have no intentions on returning or rehoming him. So I'm not sure what she'll do about this, but maybe she'll think again before breeding the cats she has and hiding important information from her customers. Again, I'll update when I hear back from her. Thanks everyone for your support!!

That is great news! I wonder if the breeder has a lot of OS in her savannah pedigrees...that may or may not explain the crossed eyes perhaps.

Well, breeder claims she & her vet never saw an issue. I sent her that picture where they're obviously crossed but reassured her we love him and he's perfect in every other way!
Once we get him neutered in a few weeks we'll get him registered and get his pedigree and maybe we'll find the answer there.

I can't see that the pedigree will answer any questions, it won't list cats as "cross-eyed" in any way?

I'd be interested in talking to her vet then, and probably would suggest to her that she needs a new vet if they can't detect such a fault...what else is that vet going to miss?

I guess if there was a Siamese back in the pedigree somewhere it would be a sign that it's very likely genetic. There's a few other breeds with a predisposition to crossed eyes as well. Never know!

She claims her vet is very critical... Idk kinda fishy. But honesty, she's been one of the sweetest, kindest people I've ever met & it really bothered me to have to bring up an issue with her! So I expect her to be honest bc she's had good integrity up until this point. I do feel better confronting her about it though.

The cross eyes associated with the Siamese is directly linked to being colorpoint as I've been explained it. So unless he's seal lynx point (he doesn't look it" that's not a likely explanation...

OS stands for Oriental Shorthair, the Siamese in any other color/pattern than colorpoint
