Hey Louie's Dad. I kinda get what you're talking because I've always been fascinated with tigers and large cats. Obviously after watching TV shows like "My Deadly Obsession" most people realize that it just isn't safe to go to sleep knowing that there is a leopard, panther or ocelot running around your house. That said, owning a large high generation Savannah is probably the closest that you will get to that dream. I'm not ashamed to admit it but I LOVE HUGE CATS! I'm blessed with two Maine Coons, and two F2 Savannah boys. (and a little rescue girl as well) I think my two year old Savannah is really large because he weighs over 23 pounds and is at least 18" at the shoulder and super long too. My other F2 is still growing and my Coons are not as big as the F2. If you are looking for size I think the F2's have as good a chance to get large. As far as the breeders, a good breeder who loves their cats wants you to be happy with their baby so they will try to be honest. There are plenty of people looking for Savannahs so they probably don't need to lie to sell a cat to you. I never felt the need to have a house full of giant cats, BUT, I wanted at least one really big one. I can't lie, it's been two years and every time I see him walk by I say to myself, "Sweet baby Jesus, that is one huge effin' cat"! Do you know the feeling when you buy a brand new car that you love and when you park it in the lot, you walk away and keep turning around to get one more glimpse of it" That's how I STILL look at my big boy. All the big talk aside, I love all my babies equally and they are all super sweet, but I just wanted at least ONE huge feline. There's no guarantee, but if a kitten is huge, it's a good start. Health is the most important, so is temperament, after that some just care more about color, spots, size, legs, ears, etc. At the end of the day, you will love your new baby and wouldn't trade him in for the world!

Now, THAT is what I would expect. If a litter produces an exceptional" cat that the breeder might want, then I'd be willing to pay extra for it, if the breeder edumenicated me on why it's exceptional.

But the point is, if a litter of mine had a kitten in it that I wanted, NO amount of money you offered me would get that kitten. It is mine. It's not a matter of price, I've been offered some rather high prices over the years for certain of my cats...

Now one kitten in a litter might have a higher price than the other due to quality, but the prices are set AFTER I decide if I am keeping a kitten.
