BOBSweep Robot Vacuum

I have to admit I was pretty disappointed myself, having nothing to compare it to besides your standard vacuum. It pics up dust and lint, but that's about all... if you can see something on the floor, it's too big for the BOBSweep to pick up. I don't know if that is the norm for these types of vacuums, but it makes it pretty useless in my household.

It should do better than that. I just dropped a wrapper from a cough drop in front of it and it ate it right up. On any given day the BOBSweep is picking up about a cup of cat fur, tracked litter, small pieces of paper or cardboard the guys shredded, dust and lint. My guess is if it's much bigger than a quarter, it's probably not going to get picked up.

This is currently covering roughly a thousand square feet on each floor. Roomba on the second, BOBSweep on the first. While it certainly doesn't replace a regular vacuum we are probably only running it a third of the time we were before we had the robots. In fact with how well the Roomba is doing on the second floor, I'm guessing we might be able to do away with a standard vacuum all together.

With the BOBSweep you can set it to charge and go as opposed to being on a schedule. That will see it run about every 4 hours. Often they are getting to places we don't get to often enough, such as under a sofa or bed and can get the filter clogged early on. Also, at our current residence we are probably only about 40% covered by area rugs on the first floor. I do think the Roomba was superior going over carpeting, but no major issues with either.

Well then my BOBSweep is faulty because it's not picking up anything bigger than lint or dust :-(

Have you taken off the wet pad that's attached?

My guess is that will get the brush off the ground and then you would only have the vacuum.

Also, I am glad it does the wet mopping, but I'm not really sure how I would ever it employ it. I guess it's a unique feature, but as currently deployed doubtful I would ever use it.

Are you talking about the mop? I left it on, but will take it off and see if it makes any difference.

Okay, I will give it a try, because when I had it running it was really quiet and the cats didn't even bother it (of course I have no idea how they would behave if I wasn't there keeping an eye on them...)

Week 1 with the Roomba Dino beats the hell out of it, often flipping it over or pushing it down the carpeted stairs.

Week 2, Dino was still fascinated by the Roomba, but would largely wait until the edge and corner brush was activated.

Week 3, Dino still beats the crap out of the Roomba and will stop whatever he's doing if he hears it go on.

Week 4, Dino now beats up the docked Roomba to turn it on at 4am.

Week 5, Apes figure out to lock Dino out of the room where Roomba dock is, hoping to remember to open the door in the morning so Roomba can vacuum entire floor.

Week 6, Dino has a new buddy and could care less about the Roomba.
