Bonnie Illies - anyone familiar with her?

Bonnie did a healing on Thursday. She called me before she started and basically told me to make sure things were quiet and not to pet Rafiki. We ended the conversation. When she started, Rafiki went into the lump position where the legs are tucked under the body. She went from the sun spot to the entrance to the catio and back to the sun spot. Each time, her body position was the same. Her eyes were more or less closed and she slowly moved her head back and forth. After about a 1/2 hour, she yawned 4 times in a row and completely stretched all the way to her toes the way that only a savannah can and came over to me. I knew that Bonnie had broken off contact.

Afterwards, Bonnie talked to me again about the nutrition. She repeated what foods are good for a stressed out liver (white meat instead of thigh, low fat, beef, rabbit, cod, etc.). She also recommended canceling the vet appointment for Saturday if Rafiki was feeling better to avoid stressing her out further. I will have a follow up conversation with her on Saturday.

Since Rafiki started feeling better on Tuesday, it is difficult to determine how effective the healing was. Rafiki is definitely radically improved today as compared to a week ago. But why? I just don't know.

Did she say how she 'heals'? Is it Reiki? Or something else? It shouldn't matter if she is on meds or not, the healing can only do good things. It might even help you wean her off the meds.

Bonnie practices Healing Touch and QiGong. She is a firm believer that nutrition plays a heavy role and recommends diets based on ailments.

I am wondering too how she is. Better, I hope.

Hi all. Rafiki continues to improve. She is more alert and playful and eats between 6.5-8 oz of food per day. Her diet is still bland (cod + tuna for breakfast and chicken tenders + chicken baby food for dinner). She is off the prednisone but still taking 2 other meds. She has 2 more weekly B12 shots to do. Catching her has become quite the adventure. She has figured out when it is time for the vet so last week I had to call and tell them we would be late. It took a half hour to catch her! We changed the appointment time for this Saturday. And one great bit of news is that she gained weight for the first time last week.
