Very cool! I like the ay you put alternating shelves o the walls. I did this also but a bit differently...same concept. used wood, batting and fleece or sherpa...here are some pics...added two poles for climbing...lots of vertical space. The pics don't contain the second poll yet and I will be getting rid of the cat tree/condo and replacing with a new one.

we have two floor to ceiling posts...covered them with sisal...bought the post and sisal at home depot.....dyed the sisal with blue food dye...they climb the poles all the time :)

Ah! I wondered if you could dye the sisal....it is hard to find unless it's the bright stuff for parrots, and the pieces I found were too short. How did you attache the posts to the ceiling?

Thank you! LOL, yes, Taj is an F6 SBT BTT - some call him a servaline...other call him a Brown Ticked Tabby - he is a big, gorgeous boy, so it doesn't matter what he is called :)

We have a Armakat too and it's well made. I also made one myself with a cable spool. I too have a sisal pole and a nice set up up stairs and downstairs for the cat. my cat love the sisal pole too, I wish I would of thought to dye the rope!! I like that, Paige.

we used blocks of wood and screws (I think)...am gonna post some pics shortly so you can see.

Pics please? Sounds great, MK! Dyeing the rope was not an easy task...took a week to dry :)

Okay, here's some pictures. The 1st 4 pictures are of the "Cat Cave" downstairs and the rest are up stairs room. My hubby put in all up 4 me and I love it and the cats love it more :)...Oh, the cat tree up stairs is the one I made. I just put new stuff on over the summer and put the one thing on upside down, lol...Dont ask I still havent turned it over, LOL

If your talking about the upstairs steps(black ones), I got it already made from Ikea. It was made for cd holder, but I found a better use for it, lol....It was 20.00 and very nice and sturdy.
