Considering buying an F1 kitten - does anyone know this breeder?

I understand your point but you can get a great looking kitten online from a total scammer, yet there were many photos, the price was cheap and the kitten looked good. So while price is important, I did not see you mention health or whether the kitten is social for any of your criteria...

I am not going to sell one of my kittens to anyone I don't speak to more than once and get a feeling for where my kitten will live and who exactly my kitten will live with...I find email and FB highly lacking in the human factor...I ask many personal questions because these are my babies I am sending off and entrusting to someone I really don't know...so I try to get to know my kitten buyers by email and phone...email alone is not sufficient. If you were a breeder and you had precious kittens born that you raised and spent many hours, days and weeks with, you would understand. To many of us, our kittens are our children...

You are entitled to your opinion, but just remember - flashy pictures, quality flashy pictures, cheap price and many flashy pictures do not necessarily equal reputable.

And just to be clear, my post has nothing to do with any breeder...I do not want people to think that flashy pictures and cheap prices are all that is important - that is how so many people are getting scammed.

I agree about the human factor...well to a certain extent while it's practical. With so few F1 kitties around, I've found myself looking much further away than when I picked up my F2 Shango (who was within state and I did a pre-visit as well). For me anything beyond probably 500 miles and I'm going to do the phone/email/FB/website thing irregardless. Ultimately that leaves me looking at F1 photos. I'm not sure I can agree that folks are getting scammed via flashy pix and low prices...I'd say this is a result of buyer negligence to do thorough research first. Likewise, as a buyer I don't think I can accurately measure a kittie's health and social stance, so they're not on my list. Certainly a pre-visit may help, but it's not always practical when you're 1000's of miles away. cheers! ..dj

Hey I just wanted to say that I have purchased a F1 Savannah from Kim and he's awesome! I've had him about 3 weeks now and he's integrating into the house really well already. I'm amazed after all the things I've heard about F1's how sweet and lovey he is. He sleeps with us almost every night (along with a bunch of other furries) and is really affectionate and social. He also lets me pick him up and carry him much more than my f2 Jackal does and is pretty much a super cool cat all around. Not to mention his looks are exactly what I wanted in a savannah (black nose, striking markings, really great ocelli, and lean physic). Here's some pics of him for you guys to check out.
