Have you considered a later generation?
We are lucky enough to be owned by an F3 boy, an F4 boy, and an F5 boy. I love them to pieces, they come and meet us at the door, cry and protest when we leave, sleep with us at night and to be honest are ao wonderful I don't know what I would do without them. Our f3 and f5 boy are very bright and display a lot of what I think of as serval traits; our f5 boy even chirps. I understand if you want a higher generation, but the lower generations are pretty awesome too :)

Longer legs seems to be very common with the early generations, and frequent with the later generations.
My two F3 boys have the long legs. At one year of age, you will know if they have the leggy look.

Was this after the law changed?
The law never changed - it was the Game and Fish's interpretation of the law which changed. Previously they were ignoring the rule which said one must have a USDA permit to own a serval in AZ, and of course you can't get a USDA unless you are breeding servals, which is why all the F1 programs and pet owners had to rehome their servals - or get them confiscated :(

Domestic Wild Cats ..... I dropped off an F3 to the airport this week and the things I heard about a local breeder named Taran Nolan
Guy at the desk - " what kind of cat is this ? A Savannah ? "
Me" yes it is "
Guy at the desk- " I think I've seen you in here a few times like a handful, I think I recognize you.... Not like that other breeder Tara that's in here all the time "
Me - " I have my reservations about that woman, IMO she's the most unethical breeder I've known "
Guy at desk " yeah that sounds about right "
Then proceeded to tell me things I never thought people could do. He said she's brought in fake health certificates, catching her a few times. The first time being she brought in a cat that he thought was not healthy and wondered how I. The world she got a HC, so this time he went to the back and called .... Sure enough THERE WAS NO RECORD OF ISSUED CERTIFICATE OR THE VET EVER SEEING THIS CAT! then he told me one time she tried to ship a cat to Norway but didn't have a cities permit, Norway said the cat was not legal and destroyed the cat :( She had told him she had about 17 females and she's a stay at home mom so she needs to make money so she breeds like crazy. He asked why my cats didn't have polydactyl paws... My reply was that it's not the breed standard and that is probably due to her using a outcross. The things I heard about how she treated the cats just shoving them in a crate and leaving. He said more often than not she did not bring a food & water bowl and they supplied it cause they felt bad, the few times that she did she brought paper cups and taped them but they were empty :( I just couldn't believe what he was telling me. Very upsetting to hear him say " at least it seems like you love your cats "

You should have encouraged him to report her to the appropriate authorities. When people are aware of animal cruelty and do nothing, they are part of the problem and should also be held accountable imo.
