Oh boy. That worries me now. Are you confident that Goat was carrier of the illness? Goat was my baby's father.

No I don't know whether it was goats lineage or the mother who was the gene that passed it. I hope your baby is Ok but if he's showed any signs of illness or urinating outside of letterbox it wouldn't hurt to get an X-ray and blood work done to test for lymphoma or other cancers.

Oh no. Goat is also the father of my kitten. My kitten has not had any litter box issues at all, but she is only a little over 4 months old. How old was your kitten when he started having issues? I am upset to think she would continue to breed him if she was aware of possible health issues. We have only had our kitten a short time and love her so much.

Unfortunately there is no good treatment, and no cure for a viral infection, but often kittens/cats who have a viral infection can get a secondary bacterial infection which is why they are treated with antibiotics. A URD PCR is the best way to know for sure exactly what you are dealing with, but it is expensive...
Thank you patti. If she continues sneezing I will look into the pcr although it sounds like I may have much bigger health issues to worry about now unfortunately.

Everyone take a deep breath here....what Django's kitten...RIP... had and died of does not indicate in any way that other kittens from the same breeder and out of the same father---Goat---will succumb to the same disease. It's already been mentioned that lymphoma is usually not seen in a kitten that age, and it is not known at this time for certain if the kitten that died had an inherited form of it or not, but only speculated upon by Django's vet that it was inherited (congenital). I do think that those of you here that now have kittens from DomesticWildCats keep a close eye on their health, and it might be a good idea to mention the family link and diagnosis and death of Django's kitten to your vets for future reference. I believe the chances are very good these other kittens will be just fine.

Guys, I have asked Dr. Per, who is a moderator and veterinarian, to jump in on this thread when he has a chance.

He will discuss lymphoma and the rest of the issues you are worried about, although he is in Norway, so it probably will not be until tomorrow.

If i get a chance maybe I can see if I still have Franklins blood work. I'm not sure where we placed it or if we ever got a copy because we did the tests and he passed the night after, before we even had the results in our hand. When I called my vet that morning he gave me them over phone.
