Your final leg home - I'm sure it's been a long day, but it will all be worth it when you finally get home and get to spend time with your new little bundles of joy :in love:

Fantastic news.... TSA's are not all created equal... Some are easy and nice, and others could care less and want to make it hard... Glad you found a easy TSA (Thousands Standing Around).

For the security room I went in with 2 people, I unzipped the sleepy pod the whole way, they said that was perfect and I didn't even need to move the cats. They took this thing and brushed it along the sides of the carrier and did a test with it. The cats stayed completely still and I re-zipped it back up. It helped that the woman who held them while I was going through security seemed to like cats too. :)

When I was at the minneapolis airport, I asked the person at the desk if I could at least pet them during the lay over because the person I got the tickets from in Fort Myers said I couldn't take them out at all in the air port... The woman said yes and I could even put them in my lap and pet them. So I took out one (Trance - the one with the lighter face) and I held her to my chest and petted her, she seemed good with it. She's also the one that Kim said was more "strong headed" so I thought all was good. The people at the counter must have seen her out with me, and I was the only one on the plane with a pet. I had a tsa come over to me and give me a different ticket, one where I was the only person in that seat/isle thing (the a/b side) instead of in a row with 3 people. She said so it would be easier with my carry on bag and their carrier. I thought it was really nice. That plane ride was pretty turbulent though.

Then when I got off the plane it took some time to get a taxi, and when I got home I couldn't get the dog kennel set up easily so I had to bring it over to a friends for them to help me. They saw me struggling with it, and it made some noise. Then getting everything set in there took time and likely made noise as well. By the time I put them in the cage it was after 12 midnight, they never did use the pad in their carrier. As far as I know even now at almost 3 am they still haven't gone potty, although I think Nakaia may have gone pee and covered it up as I saw her in the litter box but I can't tell for sure.

Anyway when I went to get them out of the cage, Trance hissed at me, but I petted her and she seemed good with it, when I picked her up she clung to me. I took off her and Nakaia's harnesses before I put them in the big dog kennel with their stuff. Nakaia clung to me as well, but she did end up getting away from me when I tried putting her in the cage, she was easily caught however as she didn't want to go far from her sister who was in the cage... that was helpful..

But right now they're both scared of me, which I kind of expected but hoped they wouldn't be because on the way to the airport I was petting them with their carrier open a bit and they seemed very good with that then. I think with all the events of the day and all the new stuff they are understandably scared. I don't want to push them. Although I would feel better if they ate, drank, and if I knew they used the bathroom. Tomorrow before I go to work I'll have them in a bigger room playing with them with toys and such and I'll get pictures then. I'll get them in a bigger room if they seem more okay by then, if they don't then I'll wait. I'll take it by ear. Right now I'm exhausted and not sure how much sense I'm making and I'm going to try to sleep.

I got Nakaia to turn into a purring machine who loved being petted for a good 10 minutes, but Trance didn't want anything to do with me, she stayed in the corner as far from me as possible. Nakaia started purring when I offered her food with my hand, her normal kibble, which she didn't even eat! Then she went to playing with the toy, and I petted her because she was still purring and I could tell she quite enjoyed it! :)

Trance however was looking at her like she was a traitor and I was Satan lol. I petted Trance slightly against her will at the end as I didn't want her to feel left out of all the petting, she accepted it but she didn't come up to me begging for it either.

Right now they're long and legging but so so so skinny :/

Kittens back in carrier, severe weather in the area... I don't want them running from me if I get a tornado warning. - Sabriel and my ferrets are still at the vet.

Glad you and the kittens had a good flight home, except for the turbulence....eeek.

If I were you, I'd put the Sleepy Pod in the dog kennel and the new room with them, with it open, since they were familiar with it while at Kim's and will still carry the scent of their prior home. They may use the Pod as a comfort zone, at least initially. I would put the dog kennel in the new room, as well. Try not to do too much changing around at first.

It sounds as if Nakaia is coming around nicely! Trance may take a while. It will help her to see Nakaia reacting positively to you. Take your time, and don't force affection. She will come around, too. Try using a wand toy to engage both kittens in play; this will help a lot with the bonding period, and don't forget to talk to them...a lot :)

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing severe weather...stay safe, and I'll say a prayer it blows over quickly!

Glad the trip home was relatively uneventful. It's always easier when the folk are nice to you and helpful with the animals.

As for Trance not warming up to you, try playing with her with a wand toy, that will give her something enjoyable to do but keep you at arms length. You may need to consider separating the two kittens during quarantine in order to get them (particularly Trance) to bond with you. Also, is the dog crate a wire crate or plastic crate? If wire, and you haven't done so already you might want to consider covering it with a sheet or blanket to give them a bit more security.
