I'm emailing back and forth with Kim, she also said the 25%/75% for litter and slowly increase/decrease over 2 week period.

Thing is I want to keep the world's best as it's what I'm used to and I'm used to the smell of it particularly. With the kittens kennel being in my kitchen it's a kind of strong smell over time. So i just typed a response to her more less putting my reasoning and saying I wanted to stay with the World's Best - awaiting her response again now. If she still says no or something I'll switch them back, I just want to try the World's best with the kittens as I'm used to it and it would likely be the easiest thing? I don't know.

I'll be posting pics tonight though, that's a good part to this post. :cat:

Brandy, Did you ever think about doing away with litter, almost all together?

No more clean up.. Just an occasional flush!

John I thought of that when I first got Sabriel, and I saw the video where you trained Elsa lol - very cute. However, Sabriel is very keen on water sports... and I don't particularly want toilet water all over my house lol. Clean or not lol

LOL, I can understand that... I can only imagine her jumping up on your dinner table with guest, and you grab her real quick to find very wet paws!!! :):):):rolleyes::rolleyes::devil::devil::devil:

I am glad that is not one sport that Elsa (forgive the pun) gets in too...

Unless Kim actually has it in her contract, there is no reason why you can't switch the kittens over to World's Best - the key is to switch them over gradually by adding more of the new and less of the old each day or so until you are completely switched over in a week or so.

Is there some reason why you cannot have 2 litter boxes for a short time - one with pine for the kittens and 1 with World's Best for Sabriel? You should try to keep things constant for the kittens for at least a couple of weeks with the primary things being food and litter. I would switch the kittens back to pine for the remainder of the quarantine time and probably for a bit after that before gradually adding in the World's Best and making the transition. Keep the other box with World's Best for Sabriel and hopefully they will all eventually adjust. And.....with 3 cats, you may need to have multiple boxes anyway.

Yes I know that I need multiple little boxes.

Okay update, got home from work - I only worked 4 hours today - working the other 4 on Saturday.
1. Ferrets - seem to be good, I just gave them some of their ferret treats as a welcome home.
2. Sabriel had her poo finally, looked well formed while I scooped it out. I fed her and gave her fresh water, she went straight to the food dish. While she was eating I combed her some and got her purring like crazy. So with her she's eating, drinking, pooing, peeing, not lethargic, and she's playing. I'm going to call it good, and assume the difference I was seeing/feeling in her size is due to my perception because of the kittens now.
3. Kittens are eating more then they did the first few days, they were out of food when I got home, they're eating right now as I type this.

Pictures should be posted before morning!

Oh and they already used the World's Best, or at least one of them did... I did get a response from Kim and she just put "I strongly urge you not to use clumping litter with kittens". --- I'll be watching them like a hawk...

As for changing litter from the breeder to the owner - I had Sabriel's be Worlds Best from the get go, when I know A1 Savannah's does not use that litter. She never had an issue with it. I changed to World's Best because when I had Neka she used Tidy Cats - I forgot what type it was off hand I'd recognize it in the store. It was supposed to be low on dust and such. Anyway probably a month or two before she died, I saw her eating it little pieces of it off the ground from where it came out of her litter box. So that's when I switched her to World's Best and I trust the litter so far at least..

I didn't realize that World's Best is a clumping litter, I thought it was made from corn husks or something similar. I also don't use clumping litter with kittens - they are too interested in eating just about anything and if they eat litter and it clumps in their stomach they can get into big trouble.

I was advised that Non-Clumping was the best, and my breeder recommended Feline Pine Non Clumping.
