They weren't much up for playing tonight, they were worn out earlier... but I did get a video. This also show's their quarantine kennel and why I feel like an awful pet mom at the moment but it'll work for the next week and a half...

Video from tonight - ignore my voice... it's the one I use on babies, little kids... I wish I had kept quiet lol. Not the best quality, it's from my iphone, bad lighting, jerky movements by me but at least you get to see them...

This is one of Nakaia playing with a toy earlier today, you can see her slim body and really long tail. Trance looks just like her, but lighter fur.

I was so jinxed lol. I for sure have one kitten who is using the litter box, and this morning in their tan bedding I found urine. So one who may or may not be willing to use it. Either because of the new litter or because of the door to the litter box. I'm taking the door off the litter box for now and I have the cat bed in the washer now. I'll find out tonight whether or not I'll be forced to switch back to their old litter lol.

So tonight when I got home, they of course made a mess of their kennel again because the door of the litter box was not on and so they jumped in and out of it playing with each other and trying to catch each other tails. Well when I put them in their carrier to clean it, it went okay enough. I cleaned it, and I put in more food and water (after washing the bowl of cat litter), and I put the door of the litter box back on.

Hopefully Trance will use the litter box now, I know Nakaia will go in and out of there as she already has since i put it back on tonight. Well I picked up Trance first out of the carrier to put her in because I knew she was the biggest escape risk (escape would mean down the stairs to the ferrets and Sabriel most likely). Got her in the cage just fine, she went straight to the water dish.

Then I got Nakaia... she doesn't like the little carrier anymore, most likely thinks she's going somewhere or just wants to stretcher legs more I don't know. But when I went to get her she bit at me, she didn't actually bite me or anything but her teeth were moving and I could tell she does not like the little carrier! Well when I was attempting to put her back in the kennel she got away from me. The whole time she stayed in the kitchen area, more or less getting more and more frightened because she kept seeing her reflection in the stove and dish washer. By the end her back was so arched and her hair was standing on end she looked like those scared cats from cartoons! I thought they exaggerated that for tv, but after seeing Nakaia do it - apparently it does happen in real life.

Took me a little bit to get her calmed down but now she's acting normal again. Purring real loud hehe.

Meanwhile Trance is putting her paw against the door of the litter box over and over, so hopefully she'll use the litter box when she needs it! lol

Brandi, you really needed to listen to Kim and continue to use the same litter they were on. Use the WB for
Sabriel...the kittens have already gone through a huge change in everything they know without having their litter changed as well. If you don't want issues with the kittens going outside the litterbox, you best follow Kim's instructions for now...wait a couple of weeks and then switch gradually.

Brandi, I don't know how big the crate is you're using but you might want to consider getting a larger one for them. Also, remember what Pam talked about making a hammock to hang over the litterbox so that they have more space.

I don't understand why there is a door on the litterbox? What kind of litterbox is this?

It was the biggest one they had for dogs, 3 feet long, about half that wide. They did have one that was bigger but only in height. As I don't plan on using it much after this quarantine period except maybe introduction period I didn't go online looking for larger ones.

With how big the litter box is now, a hammock will not work, but they love climbing on top of the litter box and chilling and they also chase each other over the litter box and such.

This is the litter box I have for Sabriel,

, it's the one I wanted to get for them after the introduction period as well but there's no way that would fit inside their kennel.

So at first I had gotten them a little normal litter box which I thought would work well for kittens, wrong, they kept flipping it because they would stand on the sides. It created a mess and they kept getting litter in their cat food and water!

So I went out and got them this, Moderna Comfy Cat Mega Enclosed Cat Litter Box, it's the kind I had with Neka, Neka's was maroon, the kittens is Navy.

I didn't realize quite how large it was with the cage, until it was in the cage... Slightly poor planning on my part but they'll be able to continue to use it long into adult hood too. With the door/flap it keeps from getting litter all over their kennel too. With Neka I took it off. With these kittens they decided with it off it was the perfect way to sneak attack each other, with the flap on they don't do that anymore. I don't really want them playing in litter anyway lol.

Side note: I didn't change back to the kind Kim had after the accident, I took the flap off for the rest of the night. Put it back on last night after I cleaned the front of their cage again. After their cat bed finished drying last night I put that back in. They haven't had a problem since. Both cats are using the cat bed normally (likely helped that I sprayed some natures miracle for cats on it before I put it in the dryer), and both cats are using the litter box well since. Obviously going to wait a few days before I know for sure it's good but so far seems good. I didn't want them to get confused changing from the pine, to the WB, back to the pine, then in a few weeks back to the WB.

Ohhhh and tonight - Nakaia showed me her belly and let me get some rubs in... She is so trusting and purrs like crazy I love it!!! :in love:

Trance still goes on top of the litter box now, but she's quit hissing almost entirely. When I put my hand in the kennel in greeting at first she'll sniff and rub up against it. She'll let me pet her some now, just not a lot yet. I can be patient. :)
