Thanks to Deborah, l now know that 5k-10k is currently the range.
Just realize that F1s at the lower price range will more likely be those nonstandard kittens - red, bicolor, etc. They are just as awesome as the spotted variety, but more affordable for those who don't mind their uniqueness.

Thanks Patti,have a feeling from the initial round of inquiries I made yesterday that 10k-15k is going to be the range for a high quality serval looking f1 from well known breeders.The one non-standard was 8k.
My question now is ,are these prices usually fixed or can one make an offer?I don't want to offend anyone ,I know Savannah's aren't used cars.I'm not trying to be cheap either,but I come from a background where I negotiate everything.Also ,is paying 15k for an classic looking f1 non breeding Savannah foolish or reasonable ?

@Gas doc
You can always make a respectful offer. Just tell the breeder the price you prefer to pay and go from there. Finding a great home is breeders' top priority but they still have to be practical and recoup the considerable costs incurred in raising F1s.

You're the only one who can ascertain whether it's foolish to spend a large amount of money on a companion animal.

Agreed with Deborah, it's your money so if you choose to spend it on a companion animal who is to say that is foolish?

People spend differing amounts on the car they choose to purchase too, or the handbag, or their vacation.

I don't know if making an offer will offend the breeder(s) you are contacting. I know that I don't haggle over the price of my kittens. I don't breed F1s though... but know that a lot goes into those programs hence the price just may be the firm price.

I would simply start a conversation with a breeder you have researched and trust. Price discussions can be introduced once you are both comfortable with each other. Also, you could discuss future litters and pricing there as well.

One F1 breeder I highly recommend and who is personal friend is Sue Armstrong at Amara Savannahs...she may be a bit negotiable on the price of her current F1 male kitten.
