fibrosis of the liver

Rafiki's ears have been healing. They still look nasty but the scabs are down to about 1/3" in diameter. I brought Rafiki in for a follow up visit and booster shots of the anti-inflammatory and antibiotics. We also did another round of blood work and an ultrasound. The results are rather startling. The blood work shows NORMAL liver values. Not just stable but normal! TP and GLOB are both a tad bit high but nothing like what she has had since May. Bilirubin, BUN, Creatine, ALB and ALT are all completely normal! The ultrasound also showed a dramatic change in both her liver and her gallbladder as well. Dr. Bianco is confused but thrilled. Could there have been an infection causing all of this all along?

Wonderful news!

I may get bashed for this, but I do believe in a God and miracles, and I do believe that the more people who hope and pray for the same things, the more likely a positive outcome, but regardless, I am so happy to hear this.
Hugs to you both.

Why would you get bashed??? As I recall, this country was founded on the belief in God and the freedom to believe how we wish. So, I will join you by agreeing the more prayers and positive hope expressed by people the more likely the outcome will be positive. Rafiki sure did come back strong !!

When we got home yesterday afternoon, Rafiki was hungry so I gave her several duck hearts that she promptly devoured. Soon after, I waited for their food to warm up to proper mouse temperature and gave it to them. Jammu decided to be a bit of a stinker and only ate half his food and walked away. I had given Rafiki an extra 1/2 oz expecting her to be hungry. She devoured all of her food and then went over to Jammu's bowl and ate all of it except for one large chunk of chicken that she nicely spat out. You should have seen the look on poor Jammu's face when he came back to eat his food only to find that there was only one piece left! I gave my poor baby some more chunks. They also managed to get several more duck hearts from the hubby before bed.

This morning, Jammu ate everything in one sitting! I think that he realizes that Rafiki is no longer getting the cooked pureed food so he may as well eat his own food and secondly that she may well finish it for him if he does not act quick enough! I gave her an extra 1/2 oz again as well as a 1/2 duck neck to munch on.
