It's a little late now, but you have a kitten that has been exposed to who knows what, and now your cats have been exposed to him... not much you can do about it now but keep an eye on your cats. Kittens can be vaccinated with an intranasal as early as three weeks, and with your traditional injectable at six weeks of age.

Both cats have been kept UTD on all vaccines. Keeping him separate really isn't an option...he needs too much of my time. I will talk to the vets about vaccines tomorrow as well though :)

Unfortunately, in cats the vaccines don't necessarily prevent infection they just (hopefully) reduce the symptoms of the disease. Hopefully all will be well and Thor can be vaccinated tomorrow

@Patti how do you wean your kittens? Mr Thor absolutely refuses to eat anything that isn't in his bottle. It will be the exact same food, exact same ratio of food to formula, and he will only take it in his bottle. He is now 6 1/2 weeks old. I obviously don't want to starve him, but I also don't want his growth to be stunted because I haven't pushed him enough. Any suggestions?

I'm no expert, but MAYBE it is because he loves you feeding him. You hold him and he likes that.

Hummm??

He does love his baba. He doesn't want to be a big cat, he wants to stay a kitten forever and ever. He is now endearing himself to my dad by sleeping on him. It is adorable :in love:

I found with azi when she had only two they didn't start eating food till 6 weeks as they got fed too much from mom. I think maybe with bottle might cut back that amount and just put finger and scrape wet food on roof of mouth. I also mixed wet with a bit of goats milk (of formula). I find by exposing small amounts multiple times a day eventually they will just one day start to eat.

He likes YOU too Kristin. You are his surrogate mom. Don't sell yourself short. :)

I have been mixing canned food with formula and leaving it in his crate with him through the day (while I am working) but he wants nothing to do with it at all. I with held his bottle until tonight, but he still refused to eat from anything but his bottle. He will eat the wet food when I shove his face in it, put it on my finger, stick his toes in it etc, but he won't lick it out of the bowl on his own.

I know he loves me...they all do :p My dad is big and gruff and professes to hate it when I bring critters home. Seeing him gush over Thor just killed me hahaha he had to go to the bathroom but didn't want to wake Thor up  Of course, once he did wake Thor up, he turned into a psycho maniac that is busy eating people

Be patient and he will all of a sudden eat it. It's funny but one day bang they just go to town. Because he was sick he probably isn't developing as quickly as a normal kitten so it might be another week before. Trust me they will all of a sudden start eating.
