I'm glad to hear that Malia is finally on the mend! Quite the ordeal and crating is certainly tough. Wirth our kitten after his injury, we really didn't have a choice but to leave him at the vet. He was just too much of a terror, even on 3 legs and he couldn't help himself despite the pain he was in. Lower profile litter boxes didn't work in his crate as he would clear all the litter outAnd finally had to opt for a taller one with extra litter to keep it anchored. Mounted bowls didn't work for us either and we finally opted for large ceramic ones that were heavy enough it took great effort to move them.
Anyway, Glad Malia has such a caring Mom and hope she gets uncrated soon.
