Kim, I'm in the Dufferin County area, close to the GTA.

And thanks, I am so anxious! It's so hard to be patient and wait!

Im not happy where I got my savannah from. She said he was shy, but he was terrified, and anxious and I have had him almost 4 weeks. He is just starting to come around. He is very healthy and hes fine, I had him at the vet last week for blood work, and rabies shot, and fecal and a general check up. When i asked her about socialization she asked me if I wanted an hour to hour schedule of her day and also said she that her schedule did not allow her to give kitty advice on a daily basis. You need to understand that I asked her these questions as I thought she raised him that it would give me insight to how to deal with things. My last breeder, I had a bengal, was always there for me, and when he was diagnosed with lymphoma the beginning of january, she was there for me, helping me through things. This is a little disturbing. Beautiful cats, but sometimes I feel like he was not socialized well. He just seems to scared around people. He is coming around now though, lots of hard work, which I am not afraid of, but its good to know these things. I contacted exotictails? I think thats it, and after 3 weeks of trying to get someone to call me back, I gave up lol.

In my personal experience picking a breeder to buy from, I picked the one who's cats were her pets, the other option clearly saw them as an income. The breeder I got Sterling and Lana from is now my mentor, she's always made an effort to make herself available to me and give me advice. I bought an F2 kitten from a breeder in Quebec who I won't name. The kitten ended up having to be put down at 4 months due to a heart murmur, and how the breeder responded after, I found really irresponsible and it made the situation so much worse for me. The cat is of course the most important thing, but the breeder you buy from will make a big difference in your experience, and the kitten you'll be getting.

Im so sorry that happened to you, that is so sad and devastating. I agree the breeder is a great source of information and comfort and a tie that you always have.

You live and learn. It's very unfair to you, that the breeder you got your boy from hasn't been helpful.. But I have no doubt he will grow to be more confident. You should like you're giving him a great environment to let his true personality shine.

When I asked these questions after we picked him up, meaning the following week and she reacted like that, she even said to me well if you dont like him, and you want a different one you can change him for a female thats friendly. I was so insulted. I was asking because I want the best for him, not because I didnt want him. I told her she would never hear from me again and I did that after I ripped into her.
Having said that, he is starting to come around. He is still a little aloof but he is not hiding anymore, and he is exploring and is getting more comfortable, and hes such a sweetheart. Love him dearly and he will get everything he ever needs and have a wonderful home to grow up in. Shame on the breeder for being that way. Guess it speaks volumes, once the exchange of monies happened, that was the end of that, how sad.

Kim. Not sure if you know, but he will pick up on your anger with the breeder, and as HE remembers her, she was mama. SO He MAY feel you hate mama. Just sayin'..
