A collage of some of my favourite pictures taken over the past year of HB and WC, enjoying their large fenced yard and orchard. I think I have shared one ? or two ? of them here before, and I apologize if I am forgetting and am posting a bunch of pictures I already shared. HB is in the 3 pictures on the left, centre, and one of the cats in the tree in the picture top right. WC is in the two bottom right pictures.

Thanks for your encouragement.... My vet gave HB some zylkene before his last vet visit, and I noticed he was playing a bit with WC before we went. And my vet has suggested treating HB’s anxiety would be a better approach if we need to do more for his chronic mild herpes, and prefers this to giving him long term antivirals. So zylkene might help. Maybe even solve the problem entirely!

Yesterday, after a few days of wet snow and rain, it was a sunny day and they both had lots of time in our large fenced yard. And there was no 3am crazies leading to HB being terrorized... though I did wake up to a gift of a dead mouse, which probably helped take the pressure off HB. I live in a tiny house, and no matter how much I try to exhaust WC, it seems there is nothing better for a calm night, than if he can spend the day running around out there. And they do enjoy each other, at least as much as they have obvious disputes. The slow motion video below was taken a couple weeks ago, and I think this was a happy chase where HB initiated it, as he seems to have enticed and invited WC to chase him? WC’s posture is clearly him having fun. And I think WC intentionally slowed down a bit when HB passes him, to allow HB more space...? But the past year, it is always WC in pursuit, never HB. They used to take turns.

(I would post a video of them having a dispute, but I am always too busy trying to intervene)
Video certainly looks like it was all in good fun. Trying to tire WC is a really good idea, but if your guys are anything like mine, they play hard and sometimes show no sign of giving up, their such high energy cats and to be honest it's usually me that tires first. I hope you find a solution to HB'S anxiety and hopefully it's just a phase WC Is going through.
