Wow, what a cutie! I'm so glad I found a place with people who also have a Savannah! My baby is actually named "Baby." I did not pick that name, she did! The night my friend and I brought her home from the airport, we were discussing her and what I should name her. We kept saying saying things like, "What about calling the baby this or that ..." After about 20 minutes we started noticing that whenever one of us said the word "Baby," this adorable little kitten would run over to that person and jump up in her lap! That was four years ago and to this day whenever someone says the word "Baby," she stills comes running and jumps in the person's lap. So, she picked her own name! After having Baby in my life, I will never own another type of cat. her vet says she's half dog, half human, in a cat body! He then said his next cat was going to be a Savannah! After her third visit to her vet, I noticed that whenever I went to pick her up from that vet's office Baby was always sitting on the counter to the reception desk when I got there. I finally told the receptionist that I thought it was very nice of the staff to have our pets already at the desk when we came to pick them up. The woman laughed at me and told me that Baby was the only patient allowed on the front desk! Seems the staff had become as attached to her as I had, so if Baby had to stay at the vet's office the staff kept her with them at their desk! I can not say enough good things about these cats! My Baby has literally saved my life half a dozen times. I am a diabetic. My problem with that is that even if I eat some kind of protein just before going to sleep, my blood sugar has a bothersome problem of sometimes dropping into coma numbers within two or three hours of me falling asleep! Baby has decided that is not acceptable. She makes it her business to wake me up! She will go across the room, kitty corner to where I'm sleeping, climb up onto a rather high window ledge, and then jump into the air and fly across the room landing on my chest! She continues jumping on me until I wake up! I told my doctor what she had done. He listened, held up a finger and told me he'd be right back. He returned five minutes later and handed me a piece of paper and told me to have that paper and Baby with me whenever I left home. It was a statement declaring that Baby is a "service animal" required to keep me alive! Even when I am at home she rarely goes more than 8 to 12 feet away from me. She is the sweetest, most gentle feline I have ever met in my 74 years on this earth. I also remember to thank God every morning and night for creating her! To me, she's an angel that just happens to prefer to wear fur!
