In praise of lower generation Savannahs :)

Thanks!....the whole premise behind this post is to prove that the "lower"...F5-F8 and beyond...are pretty fantastic, too And you are not the first or the only one, who initially thought the lower gens meant F1 and F2

While I really love the pics of the higher generation Savannahs...(I drool on a regular basis, lol) of F1, F2, and F3 Savannahs....I feel it is high time that pics and stories are posted and recognized of the lower generations...specifically F5 on down. I truly feel in the last year or two that these generations have made huge strides in how they look; I think some look like the F2's and F3's of a few years ago. I honestly have seen pics posted of cats that I swear are F3's...and am quite pleased and tickled to find out they are much lower generations I find the lower gens retain much of the serval look and personality, even more so at times, so we breeders are doing something right. For those who long for a higher generation Savannah (F1-F3) View attachment 10460 View attachment 10461 View attachment 10462 View attachment 10463 View attachment 10464 but have a lower generation budget, don't discount the lower gens as being inferior! That said, I want to share pics of a few of my lower generation cats...these are F8B's produced here.

The first three pics are of Geege, our F8B girl, and the last two are of are Harley, her full brother we kept as a future stud, out of a different litter.

To avoid confusion I have always referred to F1 through F3 as Early Generation and others as Late Generation since most people think of 1, 2, 3 as low numbers compared to 4, 5, etc being higher numbers.

That aside, I agree with the point being made.

I am not too sure if these will come in correct order. First three are some pictures of my F6SBT boy Lynxcreek Micah out of my girl Izzy. The forth picture is daughter of Azika's F7SBT girl I wish I would have kept!! The last three pics are F6SBT girl from Azika that my daughter nick named grumpy cat, she is not awesome according to breed standard, but so darn cute, she also survived being the only girl in a litter with 4 big boys. Azika F6SBT is on chair with her.

The 'lower generation' is correctly referenced however, meaning lower in serval%, NOT lower in F number.

At this point they are all referred to in several ways. I never just stick to one haha. As much as I want an F2 I will most likely be getting an F5 just due to space constraints, wherever I end up living. So It is nice to see the breed advancing/developing so beautifully!
