Congratulations, Harp! I know the wait seems to go on forever, but it is sooo worth it! Love the photos, and looking forward to many more...that's a beautiful boy!

thanks a bunch! you are right, the wait is killing me. it will be almost 5 months of waiting since i started to look for breeders. Patience is a virtue i guess. its all coming together great so far :)

As some of the others have already said, it is very difficult and often very emotional watching one of your babies leave. So much time is spent with and love given to these little ones from the day they are born, it's impossible for them to not have a special place in our hearts. I cry every time I watch one of our babies go to their new home. It makes it so much easier though when the families stay in touch with us and send updates. I love seeing our kittens in their new homes and knowing how happy they are with their new family and how happy the families are with our Savannah kittens. :)

that is true, gotta play the cards you are dealt sometimes. Is it hard watching the little buggers go to their new homes?

Congratulations on your new kitten, Harp! It's very exciting to bring a baby home, and he is very handsome! I love the name Atlas, but I'm certain you will select the perfect one whether it be now or after he comes home to you. :)

i love the passion, you rarely find breeders (of any animal) that are this passionate towards their babies! i dont think i have ever heard of dog/cat breeders of any kind getting emotional when their young leave. most just care about the money in my opinion, and dont have the passion that i am seeing in this community. i feel it makes this breed that much more special!

Thanks, and i am very excited. i can now start to obsess over what toys and accessories i am going to buy, and if i need another cat tree lol :)

ahah truth! i will need to get a bigger unit for the next one. i think the current one is going to be too small with 5 cats total

the anticipation and excitement kills you every time. i guess the buying helps pass the time, you get to research every little aspect of everything you want to buy to make sure its suitable for your baby. one year next month? time must have flown by for you! she must be growing up so fast too :)

Litterbox rules apply to cat trees.

Wall furniture arrives next week, 3 beds, 7 rails that can double as perches. And with cathedral ceilings with windows at the 12-13ft mark, they better love dad for making these windows accessible to better survey their domain!

well yesterday was a big day, i finally got to see Atlas and full grown Savannah's in person. i met 2 F2 queens (Meryl and Daphne) aswell as a stud (Klaus.) These cats are truly amazing in person, and even at 12 pounds on Daphne she was still very big looking! Amazing temperament on the cats, and very loving. The velvet like fur on the full grown cats was something that you really can only appreciate in person! Meryl didnt seem to like a stranger in her area, so she never let me pet her. only 1 sniff of the hand, and concluded she wanted nothing to do with me lol. The other 2 i was able to pet and touch no problem.

When it was time to meet the kittens, i think Atlas knew i would be his new master. As i entered the room and started to figure out who was who, Atlas took it upon himself to rest his one paw on my foot and stare up at me. My heart melted, and i felt it was a sign that i really need to take home Atlas. Also as i was leaving, i picked up Atlas to say goodbye, and he gave me a little kiss on my nose. it seems like it was meant to be!

He is indeed very sweet, and doesnt mind being handled at all, not very vocal (only a bit when you pick him up) and it doesnt seem his purring motor is going to hard yet! Gaea was a little purring machine, were Atlas has yet to be heard.

overall it was a great experience and i can tell i will really enjoy this breed of cat. seeing the full grown breeding cats really show off why people are so drawn to this breed, they are beautiful and loving animals!

here are a couple pics and videos :)
