Issues with Bijou

Got the results from the vet. Heart worm is showing negative, however vet says that if the worms are not mature. Then it won't show positive just yet.

He's saying the next step is the ultra sound or biopsy.

Not sure what were doing just yet.

It seems any positive test is positive but negatives can be positives in future or not be relevant. It didn't seem clear how then they came to the diagnoses of disease whereby they could then say that 80% of diagnosed cases survived infection.

I'd probably choose ultrasound over biopsy, it's a lot less invasive...

I have been looking for a savannah myself and I read an article on A1 savannahs that they had some issues with kittens and health. I cant say whether that is true or not. Have you contacted them and what are they saying because this doesnt like its an issue that just started in the past couple of months. Im going to try an find that article and post it if thats ok with the admins. Just in case you want to read it. First and most important is that Bijou is taken care of, and shes so lucky to have you. I feel your pain and its sad as they are helpless. What is the next move as far as her health goes on what to do next?

I've contacted them and they requested vet records from the tests that I did. And those have been sent.

At this point it I'm leading towards the ultrasound to figure out what's going on.

It does sound like ultrasound is a good next step... the radiology report is good but not pointing towards a firm diagnosis :-(

An ultrasound will probably be helpful although a needle biopsy might give you more definitive information. Unfortunately, the initial report is very indeterminate and pretty much just leaves you with more questions and multiple possibilites, some of which are 'curable' and others that are likely not making it very difficult to decide which course of action to take next...

I think there are many more factors involved here... Cats hide illness well and since I am personally involved in this, I have been privy to much more info than has been posted... I will leave it at that for now.
