While that gives me some better perspective, I am just really dialed in on my current boxes and to a point where I'm not sure making a move would be prudent. Launching litter is especially a concern as I have a real kicker in Dino. If it weren't for the Roomba addressing things daily doing a lap with a handheld would be part of my daily routine.

So interested in hearing more about the kicking limitations.

If he's a real kicker, I'd say I'd skip it. Even a gate isn't going to contain a really enthusiastic kicker. Right now, I basically vacuum that spot every day and don't expect the gate to contain all of it when I finally get around to ordering it. My Roomba-- Fred-- handles the downstairs for me. He's my most dependable servant

My Roomba -- Fiona -- is a HP Roomba. Maybe she and Fred should get together.... Seriously, I'd love to try a Litter Robot but its success rate at my place would be very limited. Taji would use it as would Juba. Maliik is pretty large and probably wouldn't like it. Atticus would try to take it apart to see what makes it tick.
