Yes, there are some people that give their cats live food. It's not bad for the cats, but also not really nessesary. It's entirely up to you if this is something you want to do.

Oke, I'm not sure about that.
I have chickens of my own and could have baby chicks now and then. ( I don't know the name for baby chickens in english ).
Small rabbits also.
I'm not men enough to kill them myself, maybe i could give them alive.
Giving mouses alive i wouldn't mind ? can i use those from the pet store that are ment for snakes ?
Or use those mouse and breed them myself ?

I'm probably not the best person to answer that question. But, I don't think that your Savannah's diet should consist of all live feed. Just every now and then. I am going to feed my Savannah's raw (already dead, from the store) meat twice a day with supplements and have a bowl of kibble out for them to nibble on.

That's what we're gonna do. We have ordered a meat grinder, re-usable freezer containers and a 3.6 top load freezer. We are going to prepare weekly containers of raw food for the cats, about six, and rotate the containers.

Our freezer in the house is big enough, but we wanted to have a separate freezer just for the cats meat. We are putting it in the garage. Also got a top load so in case they get too smart and try to open a freezer with a door. This way, no locks, no sneaky sneaky on the kitties part:)

Well, IMHO, there is a bit of worry that might come with feeding live prey versus raw or kibble. One- I'd worry about any disease/issues that the animal might carry. While they may look healthy on the outside, there may be issues on the inside that could effect the cat (raw feeders, correct me if I'm wrong). Meanwhile, if you purchase meat made for human consumption or raw food that is intended to be fed to animals, they tend to weed out the nasty stuff.

I think. LOL.

I worried about that too.

We had just planned on buying like people food. Ya know, like the double whole chickens they sell at SAMs Club. And other chicken parts that the butcher in the meat department sell. We were thinkin about looking maybe for a company that sells and ship fresh meat monthly to the house, like meat for people. Maybe some kind of whole seller, as long as the price is right and they are reputable. We would have meat for us and the cats:)' YUM! Whatcha think?

That's what most people do :)

I'm just thinking- but I don't know if it happens or not- for example, birds carry coccidia a lot. If you feed live chicks, would you be chancing passing it to your cats or does it not matter since the birds are digested? Don't know.
