The dose for Panacur (fenbendazole) is 50mg/kg for 3-5 days - if the giardia has been resistant I would treat for 5-7 days. If your kitties are difficult to give medications to then Secnidazole is probably the best way to go, however it is probably more expensive than the other agents.

Awwhhh They are such cuties!! I also had a bout with Giardia when I first got my Kitties - and yes with 2 cats it can be hard to tackle - There are some very helpful and knowledge people on this forum that can probably give you some great advise!!

Thanks for al the info.
I called the vet and we can't get the secnidazole here in the Netherlands.
We made a plan. I use panacur now for a week. That would be last but i know it isn't over, so we wait a week and then again 7 days panacur. If that still doesn't help we are going to check it in the laboratorium. Maybe something else is going on. Because we are treating them for maybe 4 months and that is a really long time.
Maybe the results of the tests will explain why they don't get better.

Some pics of them, just because haha!

I agree, those are great pictures of the furkids... hope you get the giardia situation straightened out. I know how hard it can be on you.

They are adorable, but I can tell they love to get into mischief!
I hope you get the diarrhea issue sorted out! Have you tested for tritrichomonas?

Thankss i will tell them the compliments!

After the last week panacur we wait two weeks. And then they will check for tritrichomonas at the lab. But first I wanted to try one more time 7-7-7 with panacur.

Thank you!
They are now for two days at the vet. I want them totaly checked out. Mila's diarrea got worse and I found some slimy stuff with blood in it.

I really miss them, thankfully they come home this evening. If the results only show Giardia, then i know it is nothing else. I also want to give them more raw chicken and i found some natural products to get the stool better.
Maybe when I get the diarrea under control, the Giardia also gets less because now sometimes everything is dirty when I come home from work, because they walked in it.

And just a picture because I miss them
