No, but that is a good point as well. She also caught a mouse the other day....could that cause it? She is far more lethargic than she has been in the past.

Mice can harbor all sorts of ickies. If the mouse happened to have eaten poisoned bait then Zeddie can be in big trouble. I think you need to tighten up a bit on what she is exposed to.

We don't put out mouse poison for that exact reason, and she didn't eat the mouse, just caught it. It is hard to limit her exposure when I share the house with 4 other people (plus the extras), but I will do my best. I think I will put only filtered water in the fountain. There is nothing I can do about the parrots, they are already in a separate area. The vets are all closed until Tuesday so testing will have to wait until then.

Is she drinking bottled water or tap? Rafiki tested positive for giardia last year. She had been drinking filtered tap water but after the diagnosis, I switched her to bottled. It turns out that Los Angeles water had higher than average giardia counts. She did not have any symptoms at the time. We just did a fecal on her Saturday so we will know if a few weeks if the treatment was successful.

So sorry, would wish you happy holiday but think you're seeing it just the opposite. If you go to the ER vet ask if you can take supplies home to give subq fluid yourself so that you will have it on hand next time.
