I just got another update from the vet: Tiger is doing very well. He is eating, drinking, eliminating, hydrated, ready to come home.

Zeddie tangled up her IV (which resulted in a bit of dehydration), won't eat for them, and the metronidazole is still not working for her, which means she still had diarrhea. She is still allowed home in hopes that being at the vet is doing this, and she will improve in her own environment. They are keeping her catheter in for more hydration on Monday if needed. She ate the food I brought yesterday, so I am hoping that I will find the magical batch that will have her eating regularly. The diarrhea is dehydrating her though :not sure:

Good news on Tiger. Continuing the energy transfer to Zeddie. I feel she will get better at home. And sending to you too Kristin. It is hard to maintain when one of your kids is sick. You have a friend here. :)

Let me just add - if Zeddie does have IBD then prednisolone will make her feel better. IBD is a miserable disease, whether in humans or in cats, and steroids along with metronidazole are usually the only things that will bring relief. Like you, I hate using steroids, but I had a boy who suffered terribly from IBD and the only thing that gave him relief was the steroids, so in this situation the benefits definitely outweighed the risks or side effects (which he seemed to have none). BTW, I did not have him biopsied - his response to the steroids was enough to convince me as well as my vet of what we were treating.

For us with little medical knowledge, could you please clarify "IBD"? I looked it up and found 5 different medical items, of which 2 or 3 could be for cats?

Good news on Tiger... Sorry to hear about Zeddie. I am still keeping her in my prayers.

Me too. I just have a FORMER girlfirend who has a cat with IBS, that I watched as she was in and out of the vets. Such a fragile little girl. So is the cat.

No. Sorry. No picts. We weren't together long enough for me to get pictures. She was an OLD MAN"S dream. (The girl) 28 years old, and a trophy girl. Lasted for about 5 months, 2 years ago. Then she turned into Godzilla. (The girl) All 5 of her cats loved me. Oh well...
