Good to hear Kristin! What freeze dried raw are you feeding?

I started with Stella and Chewy's but it was too crumbly for her, so now it is Feline Natural.

Zeddie is continuing to improve, she most definitely will not be going back to the vet today. She is keeping herself hydrated and eating pretty well...it seems freeze dried raw is the winner at the moment. I have her in quarantine, which she is pretty upset about, but I am able to monitor her better. As for the diarrhea...I think she is starting to have better control. She should be fine until our vet appointment on Friday *knock on wood*

Fantastic news... I pray she continues to improve...

Zeddie's appointment with the holistic vet went very well today. She was more upset by the hour and a half drive (one way) than the actual appointment.

She was given lots of love by the vet staff. She didn't cower and wasn't at all upset about being in a vet environment, which is a big step up to her regular vet. She walked into the exam room on her own, and didn't need to be persuaded or carried. In the room, freeze dried chicken was in a big container...it was like Zeddie heaven! She played with the blinds strings etc, made herself really at home.

Because she is no longer symptomatic, there wasn't a direct line of action. The vet said that because she isn't chronic, it isn't necessary for her to be on steroids just yet. Unfortunately Zeddie has the most common symptoms in the history of sick cats, so her sensitivities is a guessing game. There is spit swab they can do to see what proteins she could be allergic to, but she said a faster and more cost efficient option was to do elimination again, with rabbit. She also said Zeddie could use more fibre in her diet, and to put her on a raw blend that has more veggies. If she gets sick again, I might want to cook food for her. She said she should be getting probiotics in every meal, as well as digestive enzymes (which I was putting in, but stopped when she got sick as per the other vet.) She gave me a natural anti-nauseant to use for symptom treating. She also recommended I add flaxseed oil into hr meals to lubricate her intestines and ease any friction.

She mentioned that the issues could be just the way Zeddie is...that her sphincter is smaller or something, but the only way to test for that is endoscopy...however a higher fibre diet would help with that as well.

All in all, I would say our visit went well, and if Zeddie becomes symptomatic again we will be making a trip back to them. Hopefully *knock on wood* she is A-Okay.

Very glad to hear the visit went well, and even happier to hear that Zeddie is once again doing well. I hope the diet changes and additives will keep her on track!
