Ugh, I hope you know that an adult intact male cat is a screaming, spraying banshee - and male cat urine is about the rankest odor you can imagine, only thing worse is probably the skunk... if you plan to breed him be prepared to build him an outdoor enclosure. And don't consider breeding him to a Savannah - I doubt any ethical Savannah breeder would give you breeding rights to breed to an outcross - there's just no benefit to the breed to do that.

I had two Siamese and they didn’t have any eye problems. One of my Siamese was the best cat I have ever had. Her name was Luna and she was the gentlest, most loving cat you can ever imagine, although she was very vocal. She was the kind of cat that would make you want a cat.

Is an out cross any cat besides a Savannah?

My understanding is that any cat from outside of the breed would be an outcrossing.
But I have an issue with not doing it. The pools of genetics is already small and if you
don't allow in fresh genes then you invite problems. Just look at some of the issues they
have with Persian cats.

Which is not permissible, the offspring wouldn't even be considered Savannahs, they would be foundation cats for the development of the breed, which haven't been necessary for close to a decade.

This is not correct, the Savannah cat registrations are in the 10s of thousands, and that doesn't even touch the cats that have not been registered, which is probably twice as many.

So with that said Patti, my Akila who has an Egyptian Mau father would be considered an outcross?

Yes, any parent other than a Savannah is considered an outcross, so your Akila is considered a foundation cat for the Savannah breed, but would not be recognized by TICA as a member of the 'true' Savannah breed. Of course we still call these kitties Savannahs, the alternative is just too much of a mouthful! :giggle:

He'll be a decent size, did you say one of the parents was part snowshoe? My father has two snowshoe Siamese, both are pretty big for domestics - around 14lbs. Big for Siamese, too, I guess lol.

Mom was a seal point Siamese and dad was 1/2 Siamese and what ever his mom
hooked up when he came into being. Dad looked like a Tuxedo. Xander was the only
one in the litter that was not a Tuxedo marked kitten. That is about all I know.

How dominant a trait Tuxedo is I guess I should look.
