Let her come out on her own. Spend time in the room with her, on the floor at her level. Speak quietly, no sudden movements. Don't force her out of the kennel. Don't worry about the litter box. She'll use it when she has to. She might not poop for 2-3 days. See if she responds to a feather wand or other toy. Don't rush it, don't force it.

I suggest waiting until she's nibbling a bit on her own before trying to hand feed her. After she begins to feel comfortable with you and your wife in the room and once she begins to show curiosity toward the both of you, you can try petting her. You may not have to hand feed her. You'll have to exercise patience the next few days to see where she sets her boundaries.

Thank you, she finally came out of the crate but hiding being the toilet now and is take small steps. She definitely is taking with my better half but she goes silent when I enter the room lol I guess I know who her favorite is :)

Uh huh....well, females are fickle so you must exercise all of your masculine charms to win her over -- and it's not too early to think about getting 1) a better phone:big grin: and 2) a male F2 SV:big grin::big grin:

I wouldn't bet on that right now. I had a rescue 7 month old DSH that was terrified of adult males. Six months later, I was his best buddy, and I wasn't the one feeding him.

When the kitten is ready, a little play time with a wand can speed up the acceptance.

And lots of bribes when you figure out what her favorite treat(s) is/are. Forbid your wife from giving her said treat(s) -- Yes, I said "forbid", such conflagratory language, oh my. Anyway, plunk said treat in the palm of your hand or on another part of your person and make her come to you to partake. She may suffer you to live if you are generous with treats.

So far it has been about 15 hours since she has been home, she has eaten very little and has used the litter box once... She slipped through the gate last night and hid under the recliner in the theater room and took us a while to find her this morning. She wont eat, she lets my better half to pet her but I am still the bad guy lol... She wont take treats, we put boiled chicken in front of her and still wouldnt eat it. We bought Nature Variety Rabitt flavor wet food and she didnt touch it. I am going to pull out the crack for kitties (fancy feast) and see if she eats it. She has moved away from behind the toliet and now is in the box we put down for her. My laser pointer gets her attention but not enough for her to play with it. I am very impressed how strong will she is, she doesnt sell out and she is forcing us to be her slave but at this point I am worried about her not eating. She was given Kill shots on Friday by the vet so I am sure that is effecting her as well. image.jpeg :) Here is a picture of her.

"So far it has been about 15 hours since she has been home, she has eaten very little and has used the litter box once..." Sounds normal to me. She might not eat much for a while, but they do get hungry, and then look out. They will everything in sight.

"She slipped through the gate last night and hid under the recliner in the theater room and took us a while to find her this morning." Well that didn't take long! Beats the 3 day prediction by a mile!

We bought Nature Variety Rabitt flavor wet food and she didnt touch it. I am going to pull out the crack for kitties (fancy feast) and see if she eats it. Patience.... it's ok if mom is the one to feed her. She will make new friends one at a time.

She has moved away from behind the toliet and now is in the box we put down for her. My laser pointer gets her attention but not enough for her to play with it. Progresss! This is really starting to sound very normal to the rest of us.

I am very impressed how strong will she is, she doesnt sell out and she is forcing us be her slave. Strong willed they are! This is that determination we talk about.
Forcing you to be her slave. On behalf of the savanna community, I welcome you. Now you know. You've been owned.
Sounds to me everything will be just fine!
What a GREAT looking Savannah!

Mine loves Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys. She gets a can to share every morning with the other 2 cats. Savannah's are VERY smart, so escaping when you are not looking is par for the course. Sue

She's still feeling out the territory. They do make you grovel a bit in order to win their trust. I assume you're feeding her the same food she ate at the breeders, even if you're going to transition her to a different food in future? The combo of losing everything/everyone with whom she's familiar, the car trip, new slaves to train, and a vaccination that probably has her feeling a bit off has her little system topsy turvy. In another day or two, probably less, you'll start to see her true personality begin to emerge. In the meantime, don't try too hard with her and try not to be anxious about things. She'll pick up on that and it may confuse her.
