Now Presenting: Yuki and Yeti

Here is a close-up of Yeti snoozing. Isn't that just an adorable snoz?

The SVs are becoming even more dog-like now that they have run of half the house. They go exploring and playing, but always make time to follow me around, especially Yeti, and if I stretch out to read for a while they make a point of piling up on or beside me and going to sleep.

Yuki was following me around purring loudly this morning as I was getting ready for work.

As I was getting ready to take a shower, both SVs jumped into the tub before I could turn on the water. When I turned on the water, Yeti decided to get up on the side of the tub to watch and Yuki stayed put until the water finally reached her feet and she joined Yeti. Then I activated the shower head. Next thing I know Yuki is poking her head around one end of the shower curtain and then the other. Meanwhile Yeti is pacing the side of the tub between the shower curtains. They haven't started playing with water yet that I'm aware, but they don't seem intimidated by it either.

Paz is at the point where he is starting to play with Yeti, but then hesitating. Sunday while I was watching my favorite NFL team play like drunk highschoolers, Paz was laying in ambush for Yeti to barrel down the stairs and round the end of the sofa. He started then stopped short of wrestling and groomed Yeti briefly instead.

He is also still a bit scared when it comes to Yuki. She obviously wants to wrestle and play, but Paz still isn't trusting that she isn't trying to attack so he backs up and she stops upon seeing his signals.

Big grin on my face when I got home from work. My SVs met me at the door. Paz usually does that honor and he meowed from the dining room to say "I'm here too!".

Yeti just brought his paper ball to toss. Game of fetch in progress. :)

Wow, Yeti has the whole fetch thing down very well. Right after giving the cats their meds I was trying to take mine and heard the shuffling of paper behind me. Lookng down and around there was Yeti with his paper ball, looking up. When he caught my eye he dropped it and waited. This silly ape obliged and Yeti kept bringing it back and dropping it at my feet.

Took 5 long throws before I could finish swallowing my pills.

Now that we are upstairs he grabbed his other paper ball and brought it to me for another dozen throws.

I make sure to praise him and pet him almost every time, but I have avoided associating this game with food so that it stays as play and not a convenient vending machine.

Got an interesting wakeup this morning.

My alarm went off and as usual I hit snooze. Never made it to the snooze alarm going off. Yeti started knocking things off the nightstand to get me up. I found out why when I sat up and looked around. He had dropped his paper ball next to my head and when I didn't immediately commence playing fetch with him he decided to make sure I got up to throw the paper ball. :p
